I'd like to order some spares to have on hand. I know these things are pretty tough; that was my main reason for buying it. But I know I will be beating it harder and harder as time goes on. I found out early into the first run that these things like to barrel roll and endo. Forever.:whhooo: Moneys tight, so I was thinking a set of a-arms and some carriers for sure. Any other little items, like shock eyelets or caps, body mounts or bumpers, ect... that I should pick up? I just don't want to buy something that will never get used. Keep in mind that this thing will rarely see the series connector. Thanks as always.

I always have spur gears on hand for all my non crawler rigs.

I think I would be better off to gear down, too. It's going to see a lot of yard. Bigger tires and a pretty large gear reduction is first on the mod list.

So is that it? I keep wondering what's going to break first on my son's Slash too. So far,NOTHING! But there must be something.......... I'll be waching this thread too :)

i would have rpm arms ready just in case, and partsguy kept popping shock caps on his slayer. i dont know if the slash uses the same ones or not. he popped two in about an hour.

I hear ya on the shocks beason. The shocks bottom out before the chassis does. That got my attention a little. The truck is so light, it may never be an issue. I'll probably just leave it bone stock until I break something. Just to see what goes first. I bash alone, so this thing won't see extreme abuse. No reason to show off...yet.:)

Yeah, I have Revo VXL and they have to suffer similar breaks. Get a set of Axle Carriers, I have broken 3 or four, split down the middle. Also get the axle carrier plugs, they come with the pillow balls. Sometimes they get lost when you brake the carriers. Finally, get a package of the wheel hubs, they come with the axle pins, I have broken 3 axle pins.

All the above is wear and tear repairs, for more expansive bashing, find a chassis on Ebay, I am on my 4th chassis... but this is due to aggressive driving. When ever I broke the chassis, it is across the two bolts that pass into the front or rear bulkhead arms. This in turn usually broke the bulkheads too. But, like I said... that was the result of aggressive driving.

My newest damage is a bearing on the inside of an axle carrier, somehow the bearing shell has shattered... no impacts on this one... just a bad bearing... anyway, I can't get a bocca of that size yet so I am waiting for the traxxas bearings.

I, personally have ordered a set of these and they are great bearings. i ordered a set for my 1/10th revo too. the bearing kit also comes with bearings to take place of the bushings in the rocker arms and servo saver. they have bumpers and skid plates too. i'll be ordering a set of those in the future...hope this helps brother..
