Hey, just put a new set of pro-line mulchers on my savage x. I want to up grade the shocks next but which ones are best, I really like the integy piggyback shocks, i run mainly in dirt and sand if that helps. also how much better would a hpi suspension conversion kit help me or would it? i want to do the best upgrades for the money. please comment!! :\:whhooo:

Well, integy anything has never gotten good reviews, especially their shocks. Leaky, bend easy, strip easy... generally not good.

Many just run stock shocks on their savage with various fluid/spring combo's.

If I had to buy a set though, I'd go with HPI's big bores. 4 shocks = less to maintain. Quite a few guys have bought the plastic versions for the e-savage and like them. I'd go for the alloy ones though.

hey, thanks, I've looked at the big bore shocks, kinda pricey, but if they're good shocks definately worth it. so with the big bore shocks, you only need to run 4 instead of 8?

Yep. For a basher though, running stock shocks with decent springs should get you through most heavy bashing.

You can't beat the Flux shocks. They take the small bumps great and big air just as good as the standard 8 shock setup. If you bash, avoid the aliminum ones. Too expensive and you wil bend or dent one. Racing, that's a different story.. Shocks that long do not need to be al. unless you have a shelf queen or street truck.

theirs a little mod you can do for great handeling i did this mod and can turn at full throttle without rolling. take your shocks all apart, their is a rubber stopper in their slide that over the shock shaft until it hits the bottom were the mount is.u can use fuel line to put your shocks back together and fill with shock oil and your all set their is a pic on how to do this at hpi foruam you tube might have it to but it works great
