I am looking to buy a new nitro motor my OS RG just blew. I am looking for something competitive for racing. But also looking for reliablity. I have been looking for P5's, WS7II's and also RB S5's. Which one would be best or am a missing a good motor to look at?? Thanks alot in advance, Obi

OK if those are what you are looking at, I will add a few in that price range.
Collari B7(carb sucks though)
OS V-spec(some had bearing issues)
MR Ninja

Of all of them the P5 and MR Ninja would be my choices, followed closely by the Vspec and S5. If you use a Novarossi carb on the B7, that would be the best bang for the $$$.

I have read about the STS .21 being a very good mill for the $$$ as well.

What size track do you run at and are you going to use a pipe you have or get one to match the engine?

I run on a track that is wide open with 200 ft straights and small tracks that are tight with 100 foot straights. I will probably buy a pipe to match the motor, I'm sure my hyper 8 pipe will restrict most of these motors. Probably go with a Jammin pipe. Obi

Ok sorry about the post earlier on the large track, the straights are 165 ft. not 200 sorry alittle far fetched. Obi

Also what about the V-spec OS or the P7R evo???? THanks agian Obi

What is the mill going in??
My choices for a nice race mill would be either the Nova P5 or WS7III...
The Mr. Ninja are fairly new, and I havent read anything about them being any better than the mills listed..

They are going in my Hyper 8. And is there a difference between a P5 or a P5X???? Also which one do you think will hold a tune better??? Thanks, Bryan

I have a P5 in my MBX5, and it holds a tune beautifully.. I can't speak for the WS7III. I believe the P5X is just the new improved version of the P5.

Thanks very much for the info so quickly, what pipe do you suggest or will my standard Hyper 8 pipe be ok??? Thanks again

The P5X is just the new P5, the mid range needle has been removed. I run a P5 in my truggy and a JP mod in my buggy. The JP is a Novarossi based engine. I know a couple guy running V-Specs and they are good performers as well, they do seem to get good mileage. I've also heard from a couple others running the Ninja that the thing gets awesome mileage. I think Zandor is running the WS, maybe he'll chime in on that. I also just ran a JP-3 pipe on my truggy this weekend for the first time, WOW! Crazy midrange, it was perfect for the track I run.

Thanks very much for the timely responces, so I couldnt go wrong with either the P5 or the Vspec OS it sounds like.

OS has corrected the bearing issues.

The ws7III is insane it seems like there is no end to the power
The p5 is a stump puller

I think anything you go with is going to do you well and last a while.

As for the pipe, I would change but depending on the engine you go with we can recomend a pipe to best suite the engine.

I will buy a motor tonight, and when I do Ill chime back in about which pipe, thanks for the info

Rember to leave a good $70 for the pipe header! I saw you price "limit" on one of the "other" sites!

I ended buying a Nova Rossi P5X with an extra OS v cut cooling head, 2 jammin JP-1 pipes, 4 headers and one is a Nova Rossi shorty header for 265 from a friend. I just couldnt pass it up, i has only had 2 liters through it so far and is getting stronger every time. Bryan
