I have two Savages, a X and XL. It says in the manuals to run a r5 cold plug. My LHS thinks thats crazy. Should I run the cold or run a medium os #8. Any help is appreciated.

i've always ran the r5's in my 4.6 savvys and had no problems
 
i just checked towers website and they are different. the hpi's r5 is a cold heat range and when i searched o.s. r5 the plug that came up was for on road. I've used the hpi's r5 in all of my savages. didn't foul during break in. i replace them every season but i'm sure they could go longer. i'd stick with them
