yea i think i might just get a buggy now instead. This is like the worst part of RC . but ya gotta love it. lol

I have a question and not trying to be joking I am serious here. What do you do when you bash a on-road, is that just driving in circles and figure 8's in a parking lot or something? I know off road bashing as that is real easy to define, I just don't get on-road bashing? Doesn't really seem tlike the right term to classify running up and down the street.

i would think bashing on road style would mean drifting and over shooting corners trying to strighten up your car by counter steering, doing donuts, and having showtime events like in east Oakland, Cal. in the streets.

Illusion,do you or have or ever owned a RS4?I have the 3ss,stock the car was great, won several parking lot events stock, with the extra 1,500$ I put into it,It is a hell of a racer, true its not as popular as other cars, but I dont have any trouble running circles around them, everything has potential, dont knock it till you smoke it!:wasted: also my 2 cents on either the ss or evo,go for the ss a kit is an excellent way to get to know your car and the 12R has caught alota bad reviews,I had a great experiance with mine, its still kicking after 4 gallons of 30%,put it on a RTR 3 after I took it off my ss

Dude you should honestly let this thread die. You probably won't see much of it because it takes lots and lots of money to make it happen. Honestly it is usually more cost effecient to get a decent racing car than trying to hop up an RS4 to race. I konw I've done it. I have really fast car now but it still likes to spin out every once in a while. typical shaft drive car though.

I have driven the RS4 and was not that impressed at all compared to a well set up NTC3 or Trinity Reflex. My two cents would be to build up the NTC3 with a good mill and high quality servos and you will be able to hang with the best...as long as your driving skills are up to par.

There is a very good reason for that fact, Frank, the RS4 is primarily for newbs who want to race from time to time but the RS4 should be left for parking lot races which is what it is best suited for IMO.

yea thats wut i thought, i might buy an rs4 and get used to an on road and if i EVER get serious about racing then i will save and buy a ntc3

I like the NTC3 - KIT! Team kit!

Yeah, you will pay more than your limit, but in the long run, probably less than it would take to hop others up to perform at the same level.

Mugen or Serpent have some FINE FINE FINE rides, but you will pay dearly. Only if you are racing do I suggest those lines.

Yeah I would never suggest trying to hop up an RS4 at all. I have done it and it makes for a really sweet looking ride but over all it is just that a sweet looking ride. It's fast now but probably won't take an NTC3. I dunno I need to see mine run since I have made so many improvements to it. I just got the two speed working in it too. I put it together wrong when I was a noob. I am running a Fantom 12 in it and it should really provide some great power.

Is this debate ever gonna end?HPI RS4 3 has lots of potential.I'm not gonna say its better than a TC3 or vice-versa!Both great cars!

lol - I bet if I owned a Serpent I wouldnt say anything other than a Serpent hehehe

Just kidding man, its all about personal preference. Like asking if you could only have one, and not both, a TMaxx or a Savage. Same deal.

I have seen a number of people drive Serpents and EVERYONE says the cars are nice but way overrated and not worth the extra money.

If you think about it, the NTC3 is a good car, even for a beginner. The car will grow with you and when you outgrow your NTC3, you'll be at a new level anyway.

I say get the NTC3 kit and start learning new skills. The car can be modified easily to your needs simply because there are so many parts available from LHS all over the place.

I was new to the onroad scene and started with the NTC3. Never regretted my decision.

Serpent is overated? I dont know about that. Maybe a bit pricey, but not overated.

I still choose to run with an NTC3 and probably will for a while. I like some of the new re-designs on the new Factory Team Edition as well.

I'm finishing up a Factory Team TC3 tonight and will hit the track with it this weekend.

Love my Associateds....

I too love associateds as my sig shows but I only heard the Serps as being overrated. I have never driven a Serp. but everyone seems to bitch about the Serps. The negative feedback was so much and consistent that I opted to pick up two Trin. Reflexes. I leave one with my mech. to prep in the pit in case the one I am running craps out.
