Okay, assuming you get a ntc3 kit.

Here's the approximate money you'll spend at the minimum
$250 Ntc3 kit
$70 Cheap FM 2 channel radio w/servos and receiver
$130-150 for an engine.

So that comes out to $450-470 at the absolute minimum.

As for engines, it depends on both the amount you want to spend and your tuning level. I always recommend the OS 12TR but that could be out of your price range. There's the OS 12Cv-R and the 15CV-R. Those are both good engines that are easy to tune and at a fair price...although the 15 isn't race legal.

Ok so here are the differences between the two engines. I guess maybe the T-15 isn't as great of an option as I thought yes it does reach 1.2 horse power and the 12RSS does reach 1.0 horsepower but the difference is made up for in RPM's I do believe but check for yourself. I believe the 12RSS would win since it makes like 6000 more RPM's.

RPM's aren't everything. I think most engines are capable of those high rpm's, but in real life, you won't ever see those numbers unless you pick up the car and give it full throttle.

It really more depends on the power curve and where the powerband is.

Like my engine is rated at 41k rpm, but it's a race engine and the power peaks at around 28k rpm. I can do circles around sport engines just cuz my powerband is more realistic (and it helps a little to have 1.52hp ;) )

another car just came to my mind, the ofna ld3 what do u guys think of that???

Yep, it was a copy of the ntc3...so freaking obvious. But I heard that it doesn't handle as well as the ntc3...but I could be wrong.

I still think the GT-4 is a good choice, ready to run for about $320.

so no on the tc3???? it looks pretty cool and seems like there are a variety of hop ups for it.

If you get the NTC3 RTR you will be under your price limit, I'm just biased towards the Yokomo because, well, I own it.

i own an rs4 evo and its pretty sick 4 wheel shaft drive & chrome wheels & 2 speed tranny & roto start i think the onyl complaint i have to make is that the stock steering isnt too powerful when your going verrry fast... i tried one night where there was no cars driving by and for the most part its a good car

hey guys i just got the ofna ld3 pro kit with picco engine........the quality of the car is amazing, i did alot of research and the only reason it lacks in the steering department is the stock tires........they dont even last through break in and in the rtr version the combination of the tires and the steering servo kill the handeling........now for 320 bucks at nitro house you can pick u the pro kit which comes with a 2 speed tranny ,70 dollar inline polished pipe, 3 shoe clutch, pro arms, and a picco engine thats a hard price to beat.I talked to a guy called spenzali on the www.radiocontrolzone.com forums abotu the ld3 and thats what he races........he came in 4th overall this season and this was his first year driving. In my opinion to get the tc3 kit and then get the hopups that come with the ld3 you would have to spend over 400 bucks plus an engine. seriously check it out at ofnas website its a sweet car.

thats just my 2 cents

one more suggestion is in place... get a savage .25 and just crush all of the on road touring cars on your track... like a destruction derby

i have a MT already i wanted a little bit of a change. still have no idea wut one i want tho
