I am thinking of buying a good fast touring car and I have come down to choose between two:

1) Team Associated Nitro TC3 Kit
or
2) Yokomo GT-4 Pro

Any advice on which one to choose and/or a good setup for either one? Thanks

Ok you should do a search as this as been debated for a while. IMO I would get the NTC3 as it is a competitive ride or just a strong basher. What do you plan on doing with it? Race or Bash?

I am leaning more into the racing but I still would like to have a car that i can drive when I am not near a track.

well If you plan to race the NTC3 is an all around great car. shaft driven is always the better choice as belts suck to replace when they get chewed up due to pebbles.

I think the NTC3 was just made for the racer as the RS4 3 SS is made for bashing. I think that the RS4 can be made to be competitve but the NTC3 is just designed so much better. The SS Mill is strong. The TEAM KIT NTC3 does not come with a mill but you can drop in any .12 engine in it pretty much. The RTR kit is exceptionally fast. just no threaded aluminum shock bodies.

The RS4 3ss is a great kit.You build it and add your own radio and servos. The TC3 is alittle more pupular but they are both great!

Yup joneser is right on that one. The NTC3 is a more popular but the SS is a strong kit. Check with your LHS to see if they carry enough of the kit you choose. More than likely yes..if not you can go online and buy there.

You aren't going to get a lot of positive feedback about the GT-4 simply because not many people on this forum have one. It's a very competitive car, and I think it should easily keep up with a TC3. The SS is a good car but not quite as good as the other two. If you want an HPI racer, go with the R40. It seems to also be a competitive car.

Both good cars. I think the availability of parts and hopup parts at your local LHS would be the decision maker. You can order stuff online, but taking a trip to the LHS is faster and more convenient.

The NTC3 is also a very popular car with many available parts in the majority of hobby stores.

In New Jersey, I've noticed this year alot of racers are using the GT-4. There's still a couple TC3's, but mostly the GT-4, serpents, & Mugen.

Team - Sure your' not thinking of the Team Magic G4? He is talking about the Yokomo GT4. Other than 2 members here, I have never known anyone to have one, nor ever seen one. They are incredibly rare down here. See alot of the G4 though.

Nope. The yokomo GT-4. They are the hottest car up here. And I sent u an email

Man - That is crazy. They don't even exist down here, lol. Car is a bit old too - came out several years ago.

I just purchased a TC3 Refurb and can Honestly say that I am very satisfied. The chassis was not scratched the body had no marks on it the engine appeared to have never been started. I know this due to complete disassembly to ensure that no debris or garbage in the engine. A few tweaks on the carb and a starter box the thing was running in ten minutes. I would say invest in a good set of foams as the rubbers just wont handle the engine if you remove the restricter. You can't beat the price either it was ready to run only needing batteries and fuel, all for $254.00.
