just use ur fingers or a pair of pliars to pull the spring back apart a bit. otherwise u can get replacement springs for dirt cheap at your LHS

alrightee then...I shall be using the fingers to spread em....hehe THanks Nitroaddict

Hehe - that comment could be so misconstrued, lol.

the caps are just for looks. i put them on because they were only 4 bucks, and looked nice, lol.

Yeah it could be..either way it's the truth!

I concur, If I had the kit shocks I would keep them. but I would add the matching caps and get a spring set. There is a Factory Team spring set, or you could go aftermarket like Integy or TOP. Do some more searching around on ebay.

Yeah I think I will do that.I could use another set of springs on the side just in case!

ok i did it, i went out and bought my NTC3 kit shocks...... my LHS had them.... but I was told that they dont need springs.... the kit did not come with springs, but i was wondering if that was right??????? Do they need springs, should they have come with springs?????

I definitely agree with mcvickj! The weight of the car would cause your ride to bottom out and stay bottomed out. You need to complain about this person for giving you bogus info. What weight shock oil is he running?

ok i got 35lb shock oil. what lb springs should i use??????? mostly for onroad bashing, and some racing...??? what would be good?????

zoomer - what the LHS is telling u is to use the springs u already have. they should be copper in the front, and gold in the rear. i use 55wt oil but i also run mostly on groomed racetracks. for parking lots, 35wt would be better. i have tried every spring AE makes and have found that the ones that came with the kit are the best for all around performance. dont get too technical in this. the best shocks wont work at all if u dont have the rest of the car set up right. do you have the XXXMAIN chassis set up guide?

stock springs work fine on the ntc3 i have seen mine I am waiting to finish breaking in. Unless you are running foam tires you should be fine with the set up they give you.

Nitroaddict - what is the xxxmain setup guide? Is that worth looking into?

if u do not have this book. stop whatever u are doin and go buy it. it is know as the 'rc touring car bible' a MUST.

really 9 bucks? that's quite a mark up!!!!!

not really - go check out the team associated website. the list the NTC3 kit for 469.00 - thats a lil more than the 260 i paid.

I meant the xxxmain book. I got my ntc3 on ebay new. I was lucky that no one bid more than 225 bucks.

thats what i mean jon2 - xxxmain offers the book at 19.99, and u can get it for 9.00. thats not as bad as AE offering the kit for 469.00 and being able to get it at the LHS for 260.00
