I think it time to get a micro!!:D At my LHS there are 3 to chose from, There are the Micro Raminator MT 1/32 for $89, The Micro-T 1/32 ST For $79 and the Micro-Desert Truck for $89. Who makes the Raminator??? Is the Desert truck a good deal?? Are there brussless set ups for them?? Can I get aftermarket stuff for them?? I will be running in Inside MOSTALY but will take it out once in a blue moon!!!

All three are losi I believe. You can pretty much replace everything on the micro-t with after market parts. The losi desert truck is very similar to the micro-t as is probably the raminator.

I have a micro-t and I run around the house with it. I was it was a bit taller off the ground so it could handle the transitions from linoleum to carpet better and not bottom out so hard. The micro-raminator didn't exist when I bought my micro or I probably would have gotten it.

I have the DT and it is boatloads of fun with the brushless/lipo setup. It's a bit longer than the "T" but aside from the chassis length they are pretty much identicle. I can't comment on the Ramminator either, never seen one out of the box.

Are there artermarket parts like RPM for them?? How much would a brushless+lipo package cost??

All RPM has for the micro-t is a front skidplate. Which I didn't realize until now.

At bare minimum, to go brushless, you need to replace the receiver/esc and steering servo.
Which requires this:

And this:

To go lipo (regardless of brushless or not), you need this:

So, basically you need to pay twice what the micro costs new to upgrade to brushless and nitro.

This is partly why I'm avoiding lipo... 150mah to charge will take an hour and then I still don't get long run times. Just more consistent run times. But, to get around short run times, you have to go completely hack and figure a way to install either larger capacity lipo's or regular rechargeable AAA's. I went with the AAA's taped to the sides of the chassis. Now if I could just keep my motor from overheating from the extra weight...

The stock one has special wiring I think to work with the stock esc/receiver combo. I'm not really sure why it required special wiring... but I think stock has 4 wires going to the servo vs the standard 3 wires.

Since brushless requires a non-stock esc, your forced to change the servo and receiver as well.

Not for me... but I only run mine once in a great while around the house to irritate the cats. My only issue is overheating the motor because I installed 4 AAA cells which almost doubled the weight of the vehicle. Now it's too much for the motor.

I'm currently looking for a more robust motor and hope it helps. I'll probably change out all the bushings for bearings as well. My biggest problem is cat hair (regardless how much we vacuum) getting wrapped around the axles and causing excessive drag, which is what really seems to be overheating the motor.

Well at least youare cleaning your home to a micro-scopic level:D

So do you think the money/fun ratio is worth it???

For me yes. I think it's a blast of a little car. If you plunk down the cash to convert it to brushless it's an ultra fun little car around the living room. It's very quick, reasonably fast and just a joy to run. It's light so it doesn't beat up furniture like a 1/18 might.

I have the Micro DT with the Losi brushless motor/esc and Losi Lipo battery. I run Spektrum in all my cars so I have the Spektrum micro Rx in mine as well as a Hitec servo. I think it's Hitec.. I think the number 22 is in the model name somewhere. All in all it is a lot of doug for such a little ride, but for me it's a blast to dig out every once in a while.

how long will it last on a charge with all the hopups??

Hmm.. been a while since I've run the battery completely down. It's a pretty decnt runtime. I want to say 20 minutes.. compared to 9 in stock form

Is there drive shafts on the back or is it a solid axal??

The first one is a steering servo/receiver combo. The second is a brushless esc and motor combo.

So, yes you do still have to replace the receiver/servo. Losi just made it easier.
