which engine to buy

like to say i like this sit i have found a lot of info here. but i was woundering about may maxx. i bought it new with a 2.5 engine. ran about 3 gallons of fuel through it and it fried. could have been me dont know much about this. but am looking to repalce my engine with one that may be easier to tune, and have more bottom end. I'm not looking for a speed demon just an engine that will pull wheelies all day long for some one with little experiance. and like to find dirrect fit. i have heard that traxxas engines are hard to tune and keep a tune is this true. thanks for any help yall are able to give.

You are correct in the hard to tune aspect. TRX engines are crap out of the box.

You could go with an OS .18tm if you can find one, but if not you'll have to get a .21 tm. Bad thing is they are upwards of the 300 dollar range brand new.

what do you think about ebay i have found one there for 249 but iheard that some are not true o.s. engines.
