Hey guys iv been researching compressors now trying to figure out what size i need to get. I want to be able to use an impact wrench, grinder and all that stuff and do air brushing u know. Basically everything but i dont want to get one to small. I read something about i want no less than 6scfm per 90 psi, i think, idk i jsut need some help so for all those compressor power tool gurus LMK. Thanks in advance
-Nick

IMO, The bigger the better. The larger the tank the longer it lasts before it kicks in.
I have a 30-40 gallon unit, I forget, but it lasts all week for general shop stuff without turning on. I can paint an entire body on one tank.

It just depends on how much space and money you have.

the reason for wanting one is i have $175 gift card to lowes and i dont like any of the brand name stuff they sell except for a handful and i need a compressor so i figured id spend my money on it. heres the one I'm wanting to get http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=120435-5-C2001-WK&lpage=none I'm wanting to use if for airbrush, maybe get a small grinder attachment, I wish i had the giftcards for homedepot they would have already been spent by now, i hate lowes poor cuztomer service and i dont like their brands, but o well. If u guys know of any tools u think id use lmk. O and the real Question i was wantin to know was jsut how do i know what accessories i can use with each compressor, like i know you have to have a bigger compressor to run a grinder but how big does it have to be idk hard to explain. Thanks for the help, and if any one else has any input feel free to share.

Its not a bad unit at all. The specks on it look good and the tank will do fine.

If you wanted to chip in a few clams they have a nice 10 gallon stand up unit for 199.00 If you have the space a larger tank is better.

The issue with larger tools is how long you can use them without the unit kicking in. If the unit is always on you will tax it and it will burn up sooner then later. Each tool will let you know the requirement for operation.

Right after i posted i looked at all the compressors they had and i saw that one, i jsut dont know if thats a good brand name, have u heard good things about that brand name?

I don't like Cable I had the 2 gallon unit and torched it a month or so after it was out of out of warranty and they didn't offer parts to fix it.

I have no idea about Kobalt Sorry.

Really i had heard they had some of the best equipment, man o well idk i think the best brands are DeWalt, *Craftsman*, Husky(depends on waht it is), Delta. i think thats it idk jsut my openion. I think ill get the kobalt i guess, either that or a chain saw(take the engine out and put it in my savage) or a band saw, idk thanks for the help. Or ill buy something and return it and take the cash and go to homedepot and get a compressor. What brand do you have?

I have the Husky and it hasn't burned up yet. Other then that, at the price I don't think you will go wrong with either unit you choose. Its great to have a compressor in the shop. They serve many purposes. A chain saw has 2. Cutting a tree and making horror movies.

Get the Chain Saw. :D

HAHAH lol well for the money ill get the compressor now and buy a blower and get the engin out of it. they gottem at walmart for only $69 cheeper than some rc gas engine from a hobby site, lol
