Where do you guys order you paint from? I usually order from Tower, but I was going to and the fastest shipping they could provide (Only one option) would take until the 1st to get here.. Thats a little rediculous I think to travel from Ill to Minnesota. I was just wondering some other options.

That's because they consider paint hazardous and can only be shipped via ground. Even so, it should not take that long.

You could try Amainhobbies.com or RCBoyz.com. They both offer several shipping options.

I just checked Amain and ended up ordering through there.. 12 bottle of paint, $7 shipping, for 2-3 day usps. can't beat that. Tower wanted $9 for 3 bottles and would have it between the 1st and the 6th..

I ordered all Pactra and SpazStix.. No more faskolor for this fella..lol..

My LHS's "Lexan" paint consists of Cretix and these like 1/4 ounce jars from testors..lol..
I got my body (Jconcepts one) all masked out and ready to go. Least the 1st stage.. Now I'm itching for the paint to get here.. Ill be sure to post pics. Should be pretty cool if goes as planned..lol

Not trying to be some kind of salesman, but I have had real good luck ordering from Hobby People. Got some stuff a lot faster from them than I have from Tower. Tower is a lot closer...

I bought from them in the past and had good luck. I always forget about them though.. I need to start making lists of what I buy and from who..lol...

Nc I just wanted to thank you (And Jet too!) for the suggestion to give Pactra a try.. I used it tonight, and man... What a difference.. It really does make me see just how crappy Faskolor is (which I use to actually like it). It sprays so nice and even, and dries crazy fast. Awesome stuff!! So thanks fellas! Best tip I've recieved in painting so far.

Nice dude! The only Faskolor I like is their fluorescent colors, they spray really well (imo). You gotta love spazstix though! Fo sho! :D

Amain is the best, thats pretty much the only place i order anything from now unless its a specialty part that they don't have. You can't imagine how many amain decals i have! haha

Very glad to hear it! And Buggyracer is right too, spaz stix is great paint, BUT it is not acrylic and requires a thinner for clean up, and the smell is pretty bad, especially the hard anno colors.

After my last experience with parma, I am going to take NC's advice and pick-up some pactra.

I had such a hard time that it soured me on painting.

Just placed an order at A-Main for about $40 worth of pactra.

and I almost ordered a sheet of there decals too..lol.. So I was happy to see they sent me a sheet with each order..lol..

Yeah I have about 20 half full bottles of faskolor still to. Ill probably give them to my mom so she can use them with her crafts junk..lol.. That creatix stuff too. Thats pretty much the same as faskolor. Both crap.

The only spaz I've sprayed is chrome,(which sprayed awesome) but in my last order I got some "Hard annodized" stuff that I'm gonna try out today.

I'm still in awe of how drasticlly better this stuff sprays and just lays down..Instead of the chalky feeling after the paint is dry, pactra actually has shine to it.. Almost makes me want to drop parma a email..lol...

The only spazstix i dont recommend (that I've used) is window tint... unless you use it for window tinting of course. I tried it for shadows and it came out amazingly bad. (you can see on the blue GT body i just painted). Although, i tested it out as window tint on an old body and it worked great.

Robmob, make sure that it is the Pactra Acryl, not the regular pactra. The regular Pactra is good too, it's just not water based.

I bought the Acryl.

I thought all they had was solvent based paint which I also have a few bottles of left over from the early 90's.

I just got done spraying the spaz hard annodized. It sprayed out and layed out very nice.. But Holy stinky!! I've yet to back it (Its a transparent type paint) so it kinda looks like iodine right now.. I'm thinking it will look pretty kick ass.

That hard anno is some seriously stinky stuff, especially the yellow!

So what color anno did you use and what color are you backing it with? You know different colors will give you different looks when backing the hard anno paints.

I'm using Hard anno orange (Thought it was red when I sprayed it..) and backed it with color changing white to purple.. It suggested a chrome or a color changing paint.. It turned out so so..

crap.. Ill have to try it next time. Yeah I'm not happy with how it turned out, not so much the paint but I thought it was red, and orange doesn't go in wth my scheme at all..lol..ah well.

Andy, you do know they print the name of the color right on the front label of the bottle. :n00bie:
