Canadian savage X4.6 Owner here, New to nitro cars/trucks, new to this forum, just wanted to say hello and hopefully get some help when it's needed.

Welcome to RCNT enforcer. That is one sweet body on your rig. Did you do the paint job yourself. If so that's impressive for a noob. Anyway, have fun on the site.

Yes I did the paint myself. Thanks, working on another grave robber body, gonna do it up as ECTO-1 just for a laugh. I'll post the pics when it's done.

Today, it's the XL wheelbase conversion kit install.....that should test my patience

I own a savage and I bet the savage in that video only need a new shell and a tank refill.

flush a fuel tank

The best way to flush out a fuel tank is with denatured alcohol. It desolves all the old oil and evaporates to leaves no resedue.

i have 2 savages 1 stock 2.5 1 stretched 4.6 and about 40 other cars

another one here, well kind of. its all apart on my work bench right. i am doing a little rebuilding on it. just got my hands on it. it has been sitting for about 2 years. its a 4.1 and seems to have good compression and had after run oil in it. so after i finish tranny it should be good to go. I HOPE. can't wait this thing looks like a tank.

Well, Finally got the time and did the chassis conversion and the new Greave Robber XL is now done,

Yes she has, Smoked the spur gear first run out (i guess I didn't line it up right...my bad)
and snapped all 4 front shocks...I figured out a little too late that she handles differently in the air now. A VERY bad landing... Oh well, new shocks and gonna run her again tonight

If your having trouble setting mesh get a piece of paper and stick it between the spur and the C/B and push the engine firmly towards the spur gear and crank down the engine mount as much as you can. Once you get as good mesh don't move the engine mounts to save yourself some time and pain ^^.

Some people think that this sets the mesh too loose but since I have been using this method I haven't stripped a gear spur in over two years!

Well, got the mesh right, but now i'm not smoking spur gears, i'vr acually ground down the brass fitting in the centre!!!!! Wasn't even that tight.....
but after that I found the problem, spur gear was made for the dual slipper type......I guess I was more tired than i though, I didn''t even realize it so...
I Was given a proper steel spur, We'll see what happens albeit i'm not too worried about it. Should go like snot now.

a bit off topic, my Grave Robber body no longer fits properly, so anyone Hamilton ON that may want it, It's got some minor dings and scratches, but no worse for wear.
