When can you change over to Synthetic Oil?

I mean it's a two stroke trimmer...I guess they make synthetic 2 stroke mix. It came in the box. I told my dad that once you go synthetic you can't return and he denied it, even though I showed him this and a few other things. He's just arnory...
Dude, that's a different kind of oil. Better go and tell you Pops your sorry!

I didn't even think they still made convential two stroke. When we had a two stroke boat motor(I miss the instantaneous throttle response:(, but I'll take reliability over response), all that was available was synthetic.

Yes they still make conventional and synthetic 2 stroke and no in a weedtrimmer it doesn't matter what you run in it. Now if you are talking a snowmobile or any high performance 2 stroke I would recomend a synthetic. I personaly run synthetic in my truck and also change it every 3000 miles. Just force of habit. Just remember that even though the synthetic can last longer in the car the oil filter still gets dirty and that needs to still be changed.

I've heard this alot but can never find anything. Also there have been reports of mobile one filters exploding under high pressure. Their oil is good stuff, but their filter is kinda pricey at $10 bucks a pop. There are cheaper alternatives if your willing to research it. And like Ray said avoid frams, supposedly they machine the threading after the filter is assembled, and generally are cheaper quality wise.

Also anyone notice that a lot of high performance engines use Fram Racing filters?

Ohh, I'm pretty sure most if not all passenger car oils have detergents in it.

And a final thing nobody mentioned never ever leave used oil in a car for a long period of time. Combustion by products produce acids in the oil and metal + acid is never good.

I haven't heard anything about the mobile one filters. My truck is superchargered running 7lbs of boost with zero issues in like 6 months of using it. It dyno's in at 347rwhp and 449ft tq and also does 14'8s. I also have friends runnning more boost than me and haven't had an issue with it. If I do, I know just who to send the bill to ;)

Now I used to have links on most of this stuff but can't find them now. Here is a few that I hope helps.
