Since I'm stuck with 4 beautiful tires that are way too small for the Humm-V, I'm in need of some wheels that will look like simple classic Jeep rims or old truck rims. I'll be making a trailer for the H-V but I don't want to go for alloy. Just looking for something reasonably inexpensive, hopefully no more than $50 for a set of 4.

Something like these...

or these, or anything that really looks scale.

I guess I'm missing the right spot in my searches, but somewhere there must be stock army Jeep wheels for scale projects.
2.2 is the size I'm looking for, but I'm so frustrated that I might go for a full set of wheels and tires in 1.9 and use these on another project.

Will do. I'm still perusing the 1.9 selection on the Bay.
\I like the white ones above, but can't find any. That ad is $49 for those little silver plugs in the center of the rim, NOT the rim or tire. :whhooo:

I just found these. Two totally different tread designs with the same rims. I saw them with these tires and had to have them. $45 shipped. Done deal.

They wouldn't have worked. They're spoked. I needed the scale look for a military trailer.

Now that I have the wheels, what do I need for axles to carry them?

I could be wrong but the set above I thought only came in 1.55 rim size?? I've never seen them in 2.2's. Also the link that Hamz gave you has white wagon wheel 2.2's about 1/2 way down the first page for $12.50/ea

Ralph, on axles theres not much in the way of a production axle other than a 1/14 tamiya setup, that I know of that is.

On mine, I think, I used 3/16 all thread, inside of brake tubing to each side then a spindle with bearing at each wheel, drilled at each wheel through the all thread for pins then through hexes on them and screwed the wheel nuts on.

No pics of the axles but you see they stood up fine, you would want bigger all thread of course.

You could find some kind of drop spindle and not have axles all the way through, just the spindle and maybe a stub axle like an axial or something out each one too.

Nice, but can't do it. It has to be scratch built, just like the Humm-V frame and in the style of a military trailer.

I got them in 1.9. The link from Hamz showed those wheels in 1.55 for $10 ea and in 2.2 for $27 each. No way.

These for $11 per pair!

Also go to the top of the page hover over scale then select 1.9 wheels, there are others you might like.

I just realised that your looking for 2.2 wheels....cut the 2.2 tires to fit the 1.9 wheels!
