I am in serious need of help. I want new tires but dont wanna buy new rims. Is there a way of getting the tires off of the rims? I was told to put the wheels and tires in a oven heated to 400º's and leave it there for 45 minutes. Tried it and got scared the rim was gonna melt the paint right off. Took em out after 5 min. Help me. Also, are pro-line dirt hawg's good bashing tires? Any other Long Life Bashing tires i should know about? Thanks!

It's friggin plastic, the poop'll melt!!! DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, put a rim/tire in an over that's preheated to anything over 120 degree... it will melt the whole thing.

Get some superglue disolver.(Solvent maybe? I know the term, it's just not coming to me...the purpose is to melt the superglue(CA))

Dirt hawgs don't last very long... go for the Dirt works... (I might have it backwards, go for the one with deeper tread.)

I've used Mahser's, Masher 2000's, Road Hawgs(Suckass), Trac-Ta-Gator's, Losi front ribs, Duratrax front ribs, Speed Paws, Dirt werkz, and quite a few others...

The tires I keep going back to(For the nitro) are the Masher's... Good traction on any surface, long lasting, and big.

(I used Trac-ta-gators for the rear on the electric brick, and Losi's ribs up front.) The trac's wear out REAL quick on pavement though.

Umm...already put the damn wheels in 400º oven for 5minutes. Didnt melt. Should i leave it in longer?:hehe:Ill check on those mashers.

Unless you want the whole thing to melt, don't do that...

Rim will melt, tire will melt, whatever you put it on, will be ruined...

I've found it best to just buy new rims with the new tires.(For the Rusty, stockers are about 4 bucks for two)

I've seen a couple places where they suggested boiling the rims to loosen /hair dryer or soaking in nail polish remover/acetone i havnt tried to do this yet so I'm not sure what would work best

CA remover and boiling should work. Depends really on how heavy you put that CA on.... If its brutal then try cutting away the tires (be very careful) and then boil/use the ca remover.

I put my stock savage tires and rims in the oven at 400 deg. for 45 min., and they didnt melt:confused:

I knew it! My rims didnt show any signs of meltage. Just gonna get me some Tires and stocker rims. Back to the suggestions on tires. Heres the choices: Dirt Hawg2, Gladiator, Dirt Works, Masher's. I'm looking for whichever one has the longest lifespan and can be driven everywhere!
