I've almost completely gone through my first gallon of fuel, Trinity Monster HP 20%, in my Hyper 7 PBS. I would like to switch to O'Donnell Racing Fuel 20%. Is there any reason why I can't, or shouldn't? I realize that I'll need to re-tune.

Don't ask my why I would want to change. I have my reasons. :)

Thanks.

Roy

There is no reason y u can't. It will not affect the engine. Stay at 20% though. I changed from Trinity to byron's with no problems.

Welcome from the TRaxxas board I presume? I have changed brands of fuel many times always sticking to 20% and I have never had anything but great performance from my engines. Just make sure it is a quality fuel.

Thanks for the welcome, but I've never been to the Traxxas board. Does somebody else there have my username? That wouldn't be good, as I've used this name for at least the last 5 years on boards of varying hobbies. Or is it because the Traxxas board has been hammering Trinity?

I'm actually switching for a couple of reasons. One is because my LHS sells O'Donnell Racing Fuel 20% for $18.95, and they sell more O'Donnell than anything else. Higher turnover means fresher fuel, well, supposedly anyway. The second is from an uneducated anti-Trinity position. You know how it is, you here some things and just go along with it. I'm sure the same could be said about O'Donnell.

Thanks everyone.

Roy

Edit - Yes, I realize that fuel keeps just fine if stored correctly, so my "fresh fuel" thing doesn't really stand up. I guess it must be my combination of being anal retentive and obsessive compulsive all at the same time. :)

i know what you mean , the main reason and best reason is that the gallon is only 20 bucks ... thats a damn good price and a good reason to switch . the odonell fuel is good , just as good as trinity or anything else . juust keep at 20 and youll be fine

That is a really good price for o'donnell. My LHS carry's it for $31.95. I've been using Sidewinder backyard basher has a good oil content and nitro content to boot. I'm happy with it.

I have Top Fuel from traxxas in my rusty. I use 10% I bought it used but don't kno wat the guy before me ran in it. What happens if it's different percent?

And it just cuts out sometimes for no reason.

Welcome to RCNT royta, glad to have you here........like the rest of the guys have said there shouldn't be any reason not to switch to a brand of fuel you like for whatever reasons, just so long as you stay at the same %, which I'm sure by now you already know.
