hi can anyone give me the best engine or engines to get for my savage x? i want it too pull wheelies and be nippy, so was wondering what engine i would be the best to get, also if i got a bigger engine would i need to upgrade anything else?? :)

hi, i put a associated L.R.P Z.28 SPEC 3 IN MY SAVAGE X, AND I TRULY LOVED IT. Unfortunately the truck was recently destroyed by fire. I am buying a savage 5.9 next week, and i would definately buy another spec. 3 if the motor gives out. I've heard alot of good stuff about dynamite engines, but you can't go wrong in my opinion with the L.R.P z.28 or z.30, kinda pricey, but definately worth every penny. hope this helps. kdogg

I am pretty partial to my Mach. 26 from Losi. I dropped it in my Savage 25 and haven't looked back. Now my baby does wheelies on demand and has a very impressive top end. It was a pretty simple swap for the Nitrostar .25. Just my 2 cents.

thanks everyone for the help, also does anyone know where i can find a integy 47t steel spur gear? there all sold out everywhere :/

Integy spurs are junk, grab a new HPI one of E-Bay.

all the hpi ones i have had have melted lol, been stripped down, and i have adjusted the engine everytime so I'm going to try a steel spur

If you do go with the picco and run the stock motor mount you do need to file it out to accommodate the slightly bigger block.

The lrp drops right in.

why i no a guy who been running the same picco .28 for 3/12 years but they thing he do is run it rich and he did no have any problem with the stock motor mount so maybe you the only one with that problem cause i just dropped one in to with no problem and yes the lrp is decent but lacks top end the picco is a stronger engine top and bottom so dont tellme the lrp is this and that when i no better ttyl till a new engine comes out and dont say rb or novarossi they are not worth the money the picco last longer but my only complaint is why everyone talks about the carb when me and my friends never ran into any tunning problems but we run rich so i dont no and for all you engines experts if you run rich and really drive your vehicles you would no the engine when it get to a certain temp would lean its self out and that goes for all engines so stop leaning the hell out them engines for what ever reason and dont be afraid to run them vehicles cause you take advise from so called in the game experts on this site and listen to a true basher who no people with about 40 gallons going through the picco.28 and not idiots who dont no how to take care of a engine plus if you knew better you no that if you just start up the engine even when you dont drive it after run oil is not needed just make sure when you run burn everything out and take a look at logic if and nothing inside the engine how the hell is it going to rust thats all i have to say unless you letting it sit for months at a time you dont need after run oil everytime you shut down for the day they tell that stuff to the new comers and if you no anything thing about these trucks and rc's period you no that you can learn better by experience than taking a so called old timer advice cause his advice might be good but it dont mean he tired everything and to be the best you have to take chances

3 and a 1/2 years

picco .28 is the best dont settle for second best its the most durable .28 in the game at a reasonable price people who run to lean changes bearings after 2 and a half gallons cause running lean is abuse always stay alittle on the rich side for extended engine life :p::p:
