Yeah, exactly. I saw an old buddy of mine after 4 or 5 years away from town. He had been fighting ALS for about a year and a half or so, and he had lost the use of his hands. He was in good spirits, drinking a beer from a can he squeezed between his wrists, but I could see in his eyes how scared he was. He was a reslly good dude that lost the battle at age 53. His wife and family had a really tough time towards the end.Most people don't realize that it's not the Dementia/Alzheimer's victim that is suffering.
As the symptoms progress they forget more and more every day. It' doesn't take long
at all for them to forget their pain or stress level.
My dad wrote the book on stress. Infact his heart attacks proved that.
Eventually they simmer down and are in a state of relaxation if that makes sense.
Very tough on the rest of us though.
