so i broke an a arm today... got parts on order but i went to try and disassemble the front end and found that the package of tools that come with the revo dont include the right size allen to take it appart... i have to take the body mount support off and i dont have the right size allen... and its all metric... damn metric crap... ok gimme the skinny.... what are the sizes of metric allens do i need to keep on hand? the kit came with 3 wrenches and they are small... what is the range of metrics i need for my tool kit... this is the first time i put a wrench to the truck... but what do i need for a good full kit of tools?... not just the allens.... gimme a full tool box of tools i need... make a list for me... not just for the front end but what should my tool box have

Get a hex screwdriver set thats a good investment i have a dynamite 5pc hex set with the swivel tops on them i use them all the time and get a plyer set and a t handle socket set thats what i use

i was looking for the specific sizes... i am new to the metric sets but i know that 2 mm and 2.5 mm is needed... but what else? am i looking at a 1mm - 8 mm... in .5 mm increments or what? what is the range?

i have a 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3. I'm almost positive you wont need anything bigger or smaller

so... 1.5 to 3 mm allens.... i see now that a pair of small needle nose pliers.... anything else??? i am looking to put together a toolbox... i am only into suspension so far... but what else??? when i get into it any further, what else do you recommend? i went to gander mountain and got a $99 tackle box... i went on ebay and found a seller with a lot of cheap parts... got a lot of extras that looked like they were parting out a revo... got a diff gear box spare, several air filters, linkage parts and glow plugs... cheap... cheap ... cheap... I'm stocking up caause i already see it coming... i already ran out a gallon of fuel in less than 7 days.... i am a basher in practicing.... and will soon be a pro basher...lol... trying to limit my down time

A set of hemostats is a good idea as is a smaller set of vise-grips. I also carry a stick of blue LocTite (#248) in my larger scale toolbox. An Exacto knife is also in each of my kits.

a heat gun is good to keep around, but not totally necessary... SPARE PARTS!!!!! I suggest you keep every part related to suspension and drivetrain stocked... cross wrenches for wheels, glow plug and others are good to have around, pliers, extra screws, locktite is good, also (obviously) tweakers (small screwdrivers) for engine adjustment and tuning

I once saw a site with a full spare screw set early on when i was looking around... also i remember seeing a post where someone recommended a good screwdriver handle with several allens in the handle... anyone know where I saw these?

I have these:

And for my electric driver:

Others I don't have -
This gets you close:

This gets it done entirely:

Don't know the quality of those though. Might be worth a try for $20, but then again, may be a dud.

Ditto with these:

They say integy on them... so I'd be leery about buying them or recommending them.

If I were to buy a new set, they would be to replace the OFNA 1/4" bits with either EDS or Hudy. The OFNA ones I have are ok, but they all wobble as the shafts are a bit bent. Not enough to really hurt anything or noticeable if your looking at them, but noticeable when using them. They were like that when I bought them, well, when my wife bought them for me for Christmas a few years back.

The wife's sewing room????????? :p::p::p::p::p::p:

thanks to all the responses... I got a nice kit and a few other things...

I think i spent more in tools and hop ups than i paid for the truck... lol... I'll post some pics when i get it all together. I got the RPM suspenion upgrades all the way around. the traxxas steel driveshafts and that Bad ass roll bar ( can't remember the name off hand)

@ Hamz ... there is no sewing room... I traded the wife for a Road King back in 05 .... then upped that to a 2010 CVO Softtail Convertable Harley... 2 yrs ago

It's not hard to spend more than you spent on a truck in just upgrade parts ($400 in Micro D/T parts) not to mention tools.
