What SIM?

I'm headed down to my LHS tomorrow with the intent to purchase Realflight G3.

Is there something else I should consider? I've had a few people recommend this as the Sim to use.

It is a great sim but make sure your computer can handle the grapics it puts out.. I here its a real memory eater!!! rolex is more up on this then I am.. but I am useing RFG2 and it rocks.. You mite want to start there and then up grade to the rfg3 pack...

Look for G2 on Ebay. You can pick it up for 150 or less, now that G3 is out. The seller needs to 'sign off' on G2 through Knife Edge, and they will then clear the registration # for you.
G3 needs a lot of memory and a high end graphics card. If the sim is jumpy because the computer can't handle it, it's a waste of money.
They've gotten lots of complaints from buyers about G3.
Get G2. I bought mine about 3 years ago for 239. It's excellent. Go to their web site and get the updates, and it's bug free.

I'm using G2 and like it a lot.
I dont have another to compare it to but honestly I dont see any reason to get another.

If you have a new upper end computer that includes a high end graphics card G3 is nice. Again, you will need an extremely good 128 meg card or most 256 meg cards work fine.

Well you guys answered my concerns - I bought G3 and its pretty sweet - crashed 40 planes in my first hour

I have a Radeon X800 Pro - 256, AMD 64/3500+, 2-gigs CORSAIR PC3200XLPRO (4X512 in dual-dual channel running @333), and SATA Raid

((I'm a computer geek who found interest in RC))

With concerns only towards the machine, I bought G3 from the LHS for $199

G2 rules! We need to get a flying session going here with everyone that has it. i can host 8 people no problem. msg me when I'm on if interested. that would be awsome to fly with some RCNT members lol.

Sunny D, what add ons do you have. If you have 1 and 2, I can send you some intense airports complete with tunnels to fly through and blind figure 8s.
They're great for flying with others on line.
All close to the ground flying, with a path, like a track, to follow throughout the circuit.

I still only have G2 with addon 3 only, guy @ my lhs forgot to order addon 2 and 4 for me. doh! have to wait again till he places his next order, guess ill order 1 also. Those airports sound cool, once i get my addons in ill let you know and then email me em and lets get a flying session going here on RCNT!! + I'm sure we can all learn alot from you Rolex! we have our own RCNT flight instructor here fellas lol! the easiest way to learn is to watch others then practice practice practice lol..

I built the flying fields with parts from the main disc, and add ons 1 & 2. If you don't have those parts in your program, you'll get an error message for every part that won't load.
