i have a choice to get a hot bodies lightinig gt rtr or a hpi savage25 rtr or a t- maxx wht would be the best out of them 3

Mammoth ST :D

Out of those three get the Savage, then the Lightning GT, and I would take a T-Maxx if I had to...lol.

Had a mammoth, not the st, but I traded it for a Savage!
Much better truck for what I do and that is strictly bashing.
If you are a basher I would not suggest the mammoth.
For a racer the st is one awesome truck!!

I just read a post on the Global forum by the guy sho designed it, he said they designed the truck with bashers in mind. The ST stronger than a regular Mammoth and is cheaper. I say depending on your driving terrain go for the Mammoth ST for lighter stuff or a Savage for brutal off road stuff.

Well nobodi said anything about the HB lightning GT. I would say go with it. I Have one I replaced the engine with a wasp .28 and nothing can keep up flat out drags NOT EVEN the mammoth, and the hot race buggys at my track. Its quite strong except the pot metal stearing knuckles. get the good ones. or you can even use mammoth ones I have/do. It jumps pretty well handles great on road or dirt, i do both. just my 2cents. Booya:fro:

Savage, just because of the hop ups availibility, power, price, and durability. I got Maxx and LST, and yet I say Savage. WTF!! :fro:

OK I have the Savage and the Mammoth ST.

I would like to try to clear up something on the Mammoth ST. It is a totally new design. It is not a regular Mammoth that has been lowered and different tires put on it! Some parts are the same from the Mammoth, the X-term and the XLB. Some parts are new and will only fit the ST.
If I'm not mistaken, the diffs from the X-term, Mammoth, and X-factor are the same. The ST has upgraded XLB diffs. Just one thing.

With that said, I would recommend the Savage for what you want. It has plenty of hop-ups. Tough as hell. Probably harder to work on the first time or two. (TVP's) After ya get used to it, pc o' cake.
I know nothing of the hot bodies. It should definitly handle better than the Savage, but kinda high priced for a basher. From what I have heard about the T-maxx, I wouldn't buy one. If ya want Traxxas, go with the Revo.

Just another guy with his $0.02.

i had a tmaxx 2.5, my friend had a savage... pretty much if you only use your throttle when going straight, then never use the throttle or breaks when turning... the savage is ok... if you feel like turning at all, get NOT a tmaxx, but a revo... ide still take a maxx over a savage, stock the tmaxx is faster, and handels better. the revo handels on a totally diffrent field of prespective. the way i see it, people take a 7-8 hundred dollar mugen buggy and pay more to convert it into a truggy, THEN aspire to beat the revo... if the revo has gotten the attention of 8th scale buggy drivers, imagine the revo with an 8th scale engine

A Revo with a 1/8th scale engine(what exactly is that anyway?) Is way too much power for the 1/10 Revo. Most guys who spend 7-8 hunders on a Moogen truggy will KILL a Revo, thats why theyhave a small block class and a "unlimited" class.

Anyway, for what you want a Savage seems the way to go. BUT if you have any and I mean any thoughts of racing(and you should its way too fun), get a Revo.
