So my engine was revving high...i figured out the problem. I have a crack in my engine. It's only 2 weeks old i've only ran a half gallon of fuel through it. I really don't want to spend another 125$ on a new motor since i just bought this one! Any suggestions? Can it be fixed?

That is in a really nasty spot. I don't think that liquid metal would hold that for long. A really good aluminum welder could probably V the crack out and fill it with weld. Is that a crack on the front mounting hole as well?

you need to call traxxas!!!!!!!!
Your about to find out why traxxas is the BEST!!!
I am willing to bet that traxxas will replace it FREE of charge.
Just call their customer service at 1-888-TRAXXAS (1-888-872-9927)
Tell them what happened and how long you have had it.
Good luck!

it almost reaches the front mounting hole but the real problem is that it is on both sides of the engine in the same spot. I'm gonna try calling them to find out if they will replace it.

They told me that i could send it in and they could deal with it on a case by case basis, but then i was told if it was wrecked in any way they can't replace it. Then he went on and on about the engine replacement plan, I just did the replacement plan to get this engine!!! The replacement plan is just a stupid incentive for you to buy a new engine from them. You don't even save that much money.

Traxxas has "STEPS" they have to go through before just giving out a new engine. I went through this not to long ago. If you ERP'ed it from your LHS then take it to them and ask them, What can be done. If nothing that route call traxxas a couple again and talk to someone new and say you have called about this problem already and your not satisfied with them. And that should do it. (But remember BE NICE!.) You catch more flies with honey...

thank you jnjritz I'm sending in my engine tomorow. I purchased this motor through the plan a couple weeks ago. I really hope they replace my engine, but if not i don't want to waste another 123.90.:)

I really do appreciate the help

Simple fix. Just stop drill it, then fill it in with some alum rod with a tig welder. It does not look anywhere near any of the bearings, so it shouldn't affect bearing seal.

EXACTLY what they told me, and I did the same thing as you....I figured I wasn't waiting weeks for them to tell me they can't replace it.

No problem man . As long as there aren't any big scratches in it you should be good. cause they look at the enginge for bumps and scrapes.

its 126 if you upgrade to a 3.3 but if you have a 3.3 and you get a new one its 90
