Hey guys! hey I'm ready to upgrade to lipo & was wondering what batt specs for my search? is it 7.4 2cell 2-3s 30c & will that plug directly to esc. i have a male tamiya on esc. Thanx CD

you will have to stick with 2s for the rooster. Try to stay small on the foot print to keep weight low. Id try to get several of these. Maybe 3 or 4.

you will also want to replace that tamiya plug. My personal favorite is the traxxas HC connectors.

If you really want to something that will just plug in, you will probably have to go through maxamps and they are $$$$.

id either slap on some deans or traxxas connectors and run the either the lipo that SnG posted, or something that size. and with a 55t rooster motor, you will get upwards of 45 min to an hour of runtime.

Thanx for the quick response guys! so as long as i stay w/ the 7.4 2s 20-30c 2cell lipo i should be ok? i want to do an ebay search even tho those are a good price! i thought i was going to spend a lot more for lipo than that. probably what the lhs told me. thanx

I dont mind changing connectors just wanted to make sure i could change to lipo & what batt specs to look for.

Just make sure that when you do get a lipo, you read the manual and learn to program the ESC to turn the lipo detection/cut-off on so you dont destroy the pack.

OK purchased 2 of those batts! have any exp w/ shipping times from hobbyking? thanx!!

Depends on wich one you paid for. If you paid for the faster shipping, once they ship it, it takes about a week, other wise it'll prolly be a while. Thats why I make big orders from them when I order, to make it worth the shipping cost/time.

i used the registered shipping the one they suggested but i also noticed later a message about them moving theyre werehouse and now theyre behind on filling orders. oh well that will give me plenty of time to install the aluminum crawler chassis i got on ebay today!

You should be happy with those batteries, I just got 2 of the 3 cell versions and they worked great this weekend at my comp. If you got the Rooster crawler addition make sure you turn on the built in LiPo cut off so that you do not ruin your new batteries when you get them...
