Just wanted to know what everyone was running. Any .18's? Thinkin about maybe going bigger.

So i was thinkin about the fantom .18 but was wondering what anyones thinks.

I'm still on my stock 2.5 but was thinking about taking my XTM 18 out of my X-cellerator since I have not been running it, but will probably just go with a new 2.5 .

right now i'm using the stock 2.5. i see no reason to upgrade since my current 2.5 is running perfectly. when it wears out i may either get the sirio internals for it or a new fantom/sirio/os .18. not sure yet

Yeah the stock motor is great, but i am a fan of more horse. I have the sirio .18 in my maxx and love it, might try something new and go with fantom.

i can't imagine having more hp right now. i was running it today on my street and i just couldn't get it to go in a straight line. i'd gas it and the damn thing would just sit there and spin out. totally insane. i'm running road hawgs right now on all 4 corners. any suggestions on tires that would afford me just a bit of traction?? i'm thinking maybe speed hawgs or something..

my brother just installed a sirio .18 in his it seems strong but he is still in breaking it in and had a hard time finding a header to fit it.

The Dirt Hawgs work great for me on the street and dirt, and I can go full throttle on the street in a perfect straight line with them.

i don't know why i didn't think of that seeing as how i already have dirt hawgs. guess i'll just use either pair depending on my mood, if i want speed and controlability (or as close to it as possible) or burn-out-ability :D

the only problem with dirt hawgs is that in my experiance they suck on dirt lol, so i odn't use them much. i have found that the stock tires that come on the rustler are much better suited to the dirt we have here. almost no wear on them after several gallons, and awesome traction with great rooster tails :D

The Dirt Hawgs are not the best tires for the dirt but for me they are decent, besides I dont really use the Rustler in the dirt that much I mainly just rip around in parking lots with it, but if I wanna do both the Dirt Hawgs are fine for me and they dont where down that quickly even though there on the street most of the time.

Still running the stock 2.5 here as well. I only have about 1 1/2 gallons through it. Seems like everyone has dirt hawgs. I run those all around,a pretty good bashing tire. For just parking lots/street, I have a set of HPI truck super radials. They work OK and have worn well so far. For the track I run hole shots in a M2 or M3 compound. They wouldnt last a burnout on the street!! I think the 2.5 has more than enough power for the Rustler. I know for some too much power is just enough. :)

i don't know how people deal with more power than what the rustler has. i also have a buggy with the 24.7 motor in that produces 2.6hp, double the 2.5. yet my rustler will smoke that buggy in a drag race, accerating faster and topping out higher. traxxas sure did somehting right!! :D
