I bought a mega-baja when I look for parts on ebay I don;t know if the chassis that the baja uses is a lst a lst1 a lst2 aftershock or what the heck it is. looks like the they are all the same. are they?

The LST, LST2, and Aftershock all use the same double-deck frame layout. The LST2 did away with reverse and there may be some subtle differences in the Aftershock but none that I know of. I have never seen a Mega Baja in person but to my understanding it is an Aftershock with a Baja body. Looks cool with that body on there, may need to get one for my LST!

thanks for the info. the baja body is pretty cool, at least different from the usual truck body.

The Mega Baja and Aftershock are the same as the LST1. The LST2 has different arms, CVDs, brakes and a few other odds and ends. I highly reccomend the LST2 arms and CVDs as an upgrade. They are much stronger. Oh yeah the spurs and 2-speeed are a bit different on the LST2.

The MB and AS are the same as the LST1 as far as the arms/chassis. They don't have reverse or hi-low trans or ano'd shock bodies. They also have a different pipe, engine and two speed assembly.

The LST2 has a different engine/pipe yet again, but the 2speed hub and trans internals are the same as the LST1. The LST2 has ano'd diff cases, thicker/wider arms, larger c-hubs, no rear turnbuckles, larger outer cvd's and bearings, larger fuel tank, threaded ano'd shocks and heftier chassis rails.

I believe the MB also had a spin/pull start on the engine, which made it different from the AS.

If anybody wants a Baja, or a Baja body, you better get it soon while the hobby stores still have them, as they are discontinued. VW complained to Horizon, and they had to pull everything with the Baja body on it. Apparently it looks too much like a beetle.

thanks for the heads up they are a very different looking body and I think I will be looking for an extra
