I'm sorry for all the questions but I want to know is shaft better than belt because the more expensive cars seem to have belt driven? Anyone and Thanks again?

Depends what you'll be doing with the car. If you're a parkinglot basher, get a shaft driven car because a little pebble will make quick work of a belt driven car.

Dude it all depends on how patient you are on wrenching your car?I had the RTR3 and a NTC3 both are shaft driven cars. IMO the NTC3 was the better of the two. If you drive on clean surfaces then you might consider a Yokomo GT4 or a r40 which are belt driven. I know that the belt driven seem to accelrate smoother then a shaft driven car. Not too sure on that. I do know that pebbles can get caught in between the belt and gears and really eat up the gears. Don't get me wrong shaft driven can still have the same thing happen. I drove my NTC3 through a parking lot full of loose gravel.. Big Mistake. My two speed assembly was history. IMO for a first car you should get a shaft driven and work your way up to a belt driven..Who knows you might just want to venture into the MT's. I did!!hehehe Good luck man.

I prefer belt driven. If u get to an accident in a race, there is a high chance that you'll bend the shaft and ur screwed. With the belts u can change it between heats.

I can see where that can suck but that would have to be a pretty hard hit. I still say TAKE THE SHAFT..LOL ummm no comment.

I take a shft drive anytime hand down, My NTC3 never has seen down time due to a pebble or a rock...... It is funny at the track or parking lot to see guys flying then an immediate stop and then a slight roll. All do to a pebble getting in the belt and breaking the belt...... I also hear that it can damage other thing like the little gears that turn the belts.... SHAFT!

Thanks for all your help, I wanted a super nitro but it's belt driven and I'm just going out to some tennis courts and parking lots to drive it. I don't have any iodea if there is racing around in Buffalo. I do have a Savage and I wanted to upgrade but I have wanted a car for awhile now. So I will look at the NTC3 or RS4 EVo. I don't like the fact that the EVO has the rotostart, I would rather pullstart my ride. Thanks.

if you are looking between those two, the NTC3 is a better ride, hands down. but that is just an opinion and it happens to be mine.
