Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures. My camera is in my 18 wheeler and I am too lazy to go get it right now.

So charliejp and I did some trading and I now have a crawler! Gonna throw a RX/TX at it and play with it while saving up the cash for a decent (but not high-dollar) 3 channel TX/RX (with 3rd channel EPA's) and a nice dig. Also a nicer body. Any suggestions?

RcAddict got a crawler???

Lol. Congrats on the new rig bro.

bent links, weight the wheels, massage the front knuckles for steering, get the battery down on the front axle,

that should get you started!!

congrats, and welcome to the slow riiiide.

There is already a battery tray over the front axle. Great place for the 3s cells Charlie threw into the deal! Got the bent links in the rear--think I outta go bent in the front?

Also, throw out ideas on the TX/RX, dig, and body. Lloyd has pointed me towards a hella nice dig unit with servo but I want all the feedback I can get on the rest...

yep! mine had the same plate. works out good with some velcro and a strap.

you may want to check your y connectors on the upper links. that was a weak point for mine. switched to aluminum, then went 4 link.

smaxxin, is that a complete trans? if not where do you mount that big ol thing?

That is the one Lloyd pointed me to. Looks like a killer piece and would look good with the EEM Motor Mount that Charlie threw in (not installed. Yet!)...

I installed it on the front shaft so I could use it to shift from two to four wheel drive, it goes in and out super smooth (can't hear a thing) even while the truck is in motion!

It's not the complete tranny but it's not too big, here it is in my scx10

Congrats on finally getting a crawler after god only knows how long you have been talking about it, LOL!!! Another good option for a dig is the VP Dig, a Hitec 645 is a good dig servo and if your looking for a good 3ch radio for the money check out the new Spectrum DX3E for a $100.

New body for sure, I like the Proline Crowd Pleaser, and Losi Grappler Pro bodies, but it is looking like the Proline is going to have better clearance around the shocks and front wheels...Now I just have to get my Crowd Pleaser Body painted...

A buddy of mine has that dig and is really happy with it, it is very similar to the DNA dig in form and function....

I have to be honest here. I thought RC crawling was the dumbest thing ever. How can something that slow possibly be any fun at all I though. But I went to wally world and picked up one of the little nylint crawlers, and was hooked. So then I built up a true crawler, and the weekend I finished it, my cousin and I stayed outside in 15 degree temps stacking rocks in his front yard around one of his planters. We played till 2 in the morning in the freezing cold, they're AWESOME!! Congrats RC, you'll love it man.

I'm glad you got the Crawler Cody! I hope you get to play with it a little more than I did. I'll get another one day after I get my own place. Roommates don't always understand rock piles and ramps in their backyards? Looking forward to getting my little package and smelling some nitro! It's been too long!
