I just purchased a Revo and would like to know what parts to stock up on. I'm not planning on basing it all over, more for playin in the yard. I don't plan on hitting many ramps but if the opportunity arises, I'm not sure i can hold back!

i own a t maxx.. But i keep spur gears, a arms, bulkheads, and other nitro stuff on hand

For the spur gear, is there an advantage to using steel? Or will this cause problems elsewhere? As plastic parts break, is it wise to replace them with aluminum? Is the bulkhead basically the front frame?
Thank you for your patients!!

I use plastic spur gears because there cheaper than replacing transmissions or differentials.

Yep unless you go ahead and bulletproof the rest of your drive train, dont use steel spur gears.
Spur gears, hardware and glow plugs are a must. Dumb not having a $2 part and ending a good day of bashing.

bulkheads, axle carriers, a arms. that's what I usually end up replacing the most. my drivetrain is pretty much bullet proof.

a back up glow igniter and or a battery for it that's charged. as mentioned extra glow plugs.

I never broke a bulkhead on my Revo, but the other things are a good idea. Also get some Team Associated Green Slime and shock oil. A stick of Loctite 248 is also a good idea.

I always broke steering toe rods on front of my revo. Being located in front of a arms they always manage to take a direct hit. ++1 on extra glow plugs and batteries and hump packs. Spare exhaust couplers are also handy with the revo. The design of the manifold and pipe seem to be bad about cutting holes into couplers and causing leaks and lean running issues.

Make sure u get the black coupler, the blue ones seem to break more, if you break something from normal use buy two of them, if its a one off like a exhaust gets ripped off when u land a huge ramp just get one and be more careful or get a wing on the back to protect it.

Defo need superglue, the beads on my tires don't last too long when smashing it around and superglue and a few min dry time and ur back out again.

Make sure u have spare batteries, for everything. Sucks when u go out and ur receiver pack is dead or ur controller etc.

First wreck!!!

Well, just a few days in and I practically need a whole front end....hit some sand wot.....then a curb. It blew up. The bulkhead isn't even noticeable, bent the front disc brake, broke a rocker arm in 3, suspension long pin broke in half, steering mount and arm both in multiple pieces, front mount snapped, bent push rod, stripped a set of steering servo gears, and broke the electric box case. Hope the hobby shop is full of parts!!!

That's some pretty good carnage!

I don't keep much on hand as I don't break much anymore with the upgrades I've done. Spare glow plugs, pushrod/shock ends, center axles and a set of outer axles. A few other odds and ends.

True, it does cost a bit more at your LHS, but it supports a local business. I'd rather pay a few cents more and have someplace to go when I need help.

Yeh it's all good for you Americans buyin local, at least you don't have to pay double at lhs like us Aussies do, that's why we have to buy online

Results.......new suspension arm, new bulkhead, new steering arm and mount, new gears for both steering servos, new disc brake, new rocker arms, new front body mount, and new bulkhead tie bars. Cost....about $80, and a great deal of front end knowledge. First bash session after overhaul.......broken suspension arm and axle (half shaft)!!! Also a new question! Posted in this thread about idle and slipper!

I have gone through the plastic drive shafts like mad so if you are not running metal drive shafts get some extra plastic ones.
