RC Driving Style
just curious. my son(5) usually comes with me to the track. and we bash our MT's together, clodbuster and savvy. we also run our boats together, reef racer2, zig zag2, and shockwave 36. my brother sometimes makes a bash session if his buggy isnt broken. parents are uninvolved.

what do your families do? are they involved, do they watch, do they not care?

my daughter comes to the races on saturdays w/ me but she just wants to play w/ some of the other kids that come too....

my mom thinks their a good way to keep me away from violance and drugs, my brother thinks I am a dork for doing RC, my dad couldnt care less. thats about it.

My dad (48) is involved with me by explaining a lot about the engines and other technical stuff on it. He loves getting his friends to watch me go off of jumps. He brags sometimes about my cars to other friends.

My bros (15 and 17) like watching me for a bit, and dont mind it. They are more into paintball.

My mom (43)is more worried about how much I spend on them, and not much into the lhs place/s guys. She thinks they always rip me off, but still enjoys watching me every now and then drive it.

My sister (10) does not like much about it except for when I jump it. She usually gets her friends and our neighborhood kids to line up after the jump, so I can clear them.

Me... I love pretty much everything about it.

My brother (12) is into it and will be selling his B4 to get a OFNA 9.5 MBX so We can drive together. He likes rc, but he is too lazy to do research, so I do it for him (cuz i know a lot more) and I fix his cars ALL THE TIME (cuz I'm nice)...

My mom doesn't like rc that much. She says they are loud, abnoxious, and suuuuuuuper time consuming. She never takes us to the track because there is nothing for her to do... (sucks major... we were going to go today but she didn't want to take us) Sometimes shes cool about it, and thinks they are cool, but others..... don't get me wrong, she is nice most of the time and doesn't mind us driving in front of our house.

My Dad likes rc a lot. He knowes some stuff about how the engine works from when he was younger. He helps me fix stuff and he helps me out a lot at the track. When it comes to rc, my dad is awesome.

I LOVE THIS HOBBY. IT RULES........ thats all i can say lol

The track where I race is at a large softball complex. There is a fenced in playground for kids and a concession stand with slushies!! So, my kids enjoy going to the track with me. I load up the bikes and they ride around the complex, play in the playground and eat/drink until they are sick. Race day is a long afternoon and they typically are ready to go home long before the racing is over. The track is about a five minute drive from the house, so I run them home during one of the between heat intermissions.

The wife has Zero...Zip...Nilch...Nada interest in hanging with a bunch of "Git-R-Dones", but does appreciate having a few hours in the house alone on Sunday afternoons.

Mr T

My dad likes them, but doesn't know too much about them. He likes to brag to his friends about how they burn nitro and go 40mph and can jump in the air.

My mom thinks they look fun, but cost way too much.

My bro hates all the tools and pieces/parts I leave laying on the ground, he also thinks they are a waste of time.

my dad watches (when hes at my house) and tells us were crazy for doing to them what we do to them.. (he was there for the car jump and the 68 foot leap both by wannarunem..)but he wants one.. as soon as he gets caught up on some bills..(just got a new job) my brother helps turn over cars and fix um, he wants one but doesn't have the cash right now.. (just started college) my wife doent like them but she knows I'm happy so she lets me have my day.. she cleans house or works on her writing or sleeps ( yea right, sleep with 5 nitros running outside HA)

Well, my brothere and I race together. Need I say more? everyone else just stays home.

RC is one of the things my wife and I do together, once a week at least, on our small track. BUT . . . .

I took her to a track once and we just sat in the lot, letting her feel out the situation, watching the guys show up and strut their s**t up to the pit area . . . . she was totally intimidated by the attitudes of some of these guys. She left there thinking there is no way she would ever want to get on a track with most of them.

That's the hard truth of it, it's one thing to love the hobby and be serious about it but it's another to be so serious that your attitude shows, a lot of people get turned away.

Next week I'm taking two weeks off (WOOT!) and we're probably going to take a day or two to go north and hit as many tracks as possible on the way, but we won't be getting out the nitros unless it's practice-only day for that reason. (Might see ya there B.R. 28! :D )

my mom thinks there loud and a waste of time. my dad likes them and helps me work on them. sister say there ***. my neighbor is a sheriff and he pulls his cruser out in the road and flips the lights on to shut down the road for about 10-15 min.(our road is not used that much) he likes them.

my mum is sometimes interested. my dad sometimes watches me drive it and he wants a go. i have 3 brothers and they don't really care they just want to have a go on it. and my sister dosen't care.
they just want a go. :)

When I'm bashing (90% of the time in the front yard) my mom and dad are usually watching. Alot of the time my parents will have friends over (Usually sitting on the deck drinking some beers) and my dad will suggest I pull the savage out. Otherwise when I'm bashing my little cousins who live next door (14 and 11) will come over and watch me, and run and turn it over when I flip it.

rockinbil, sorry to hear you got that impression of racers. perhaps its just a group of ego's at your local track. most tracks I've been to, if its your first day there, everyone is willing to help out and show you the ropes. hopefully on your trip you find a track with a good group of guys. but go up and talk to them, dont just observe. remember most tracks have a core group of guys that know each other pretty well, and give each other a good ribbing all day long. "hangin with the guys" ya know?

Not me. Nothing bothers me, except mimes and welfare. I'm just having trouble getting my wife to get out on these tracks. I raced for about 6 years, it's just all our tracks died out.

If someone's having a tantrum on the drivers' stand, I'll just pull my ride and hit the pits. :D

HAAAAAA!

When I race on Sat. the wife usually takes the kids to a park or something, then they usually stop by to see how its going. My kids are starting to get into it, I got them a Ele. MT, and they have a Mini-t to play with. I'm starting to take them with me to the track on Fridays to just run around, and they like it. The wife dosnt really drive them, but supports my hobby.

Whatever they want.
My dad is planing on racing with me pretty soon here. I can't wait.

My whole family gets involved from the fiance to my mother we all try to make a weekend of it its great we bbq and kick back cold ones all weekend long weather permitting that is, all in all we all have a great time! isnt that right Ryhton!

The family can do what ever they want as long as they don't bug me when we're racing. They pretty much know that we are unreachable when we race. They stay home and wait to see how many parts we have broken.

The wife could care less.
If I go bashing, I take my 6 & 9 year old sons. HPI MT2 and an RC10 GT.

I race, I go without the Kids.
