Hello again.. Well as I stated in another thread, I got a new .18 SH motor, to replace the original .18 SH that I burned up after it injested some sand early on in it's life.. So, I get the new motor and notice it's not got the same carb.. The new one has a slide carb, while the old one has the rotary.. Now, I can swap out the carbs and get a rotary one sent, so that's not the problem, but what I'm curious about is the ventury on the slide carb is appx 2mm wider than the rotary carb? These are supposedly the same engine, but I have to think the slide carb will perform differently than the rotary, since the ventury opening is larger?? What do you guys think? Should I figure out a way to get the linkage to work with the slide, or just stick with the rotary carb?? Thanks as usual for your help and opinions! :)

As a general rule with all other things being equal, a smaller carb tends to be make more power down low and respond better to partial throttle openings, whereas the bigger carb will make more peak power, and pull harder on top.
