I'm lost. I've got great advice on chargers. But I just found out that some chargers do not come ready to plug into the wall. I need a charger that:

1: will charge hump pack and the rotostart 2 battery
2: comes with power supply or whatever I need to plug it into the wall and charge my batteries
3: quick charge.

I'm sure everyone is tired of this but I know nothing about this stuff. I just want to buy a hump pack and charger I can charge my batteries with and start the break in this week. I'd like some understanding before I walk into the hobby shop and get ripped off with something I don't need.

Savage x 4.6 rtr

Onyx 235 will do it all. I have one and love it. Charges lipos once you make the move as well. Which you will if you stay in the rc game.:)

Yep. Comes with Deans, Traxxas, tamiya(your roto start) and a few other plugs. I believe it has a reciever battery port rather than a connector. Mine's currently out of town on loan so I can't look at it. Go to duratrax.com and check it out. I think you'll like it.

Thank you for clearing this up for me. My LHS carries this charger as well as the one that charges 2 at once. Huge thank you.

Only mistake I made was not getting the dual.:) It's real easy to use, runs cool and is fully adjustable. A charger you can grow into.

May just spend the extra $30 and get the dual. If my nitro experience is an epic fail I'll just sell it all. I'm hoping I can still figure this stuff out like I did 20 years ago. My brain has gotten softer with age though lol.

I agree. The onyx 235 is a great charger and I have the same regret as metal head not getting the 240 dual charger. Good luck with the break in if you get to frustrated just do what I do take a little break and cool off.

I have an onyx 200 and i love it for rx packs and rotto start batteries. you should go for the onyx 235. You'll have future options and its pretty much plug an play.

What type /model Rx hump will fit in the x4.6 ? Do some have longer run time? Shorter/longer charge time? Trying to get my ducks in a row before my trip to the nearest LHS tomorrow. About an hours ride. Gotta get the onyx , fuel and would love a good hump pack. Thanks a ton guys

The higher the mah, the longer the pack will last. Look at it like a gas tank. 1200mah is a bigger tank than 1000mah. The bigger the better. Charge time will be similar. A 1000mah battery pack can safely be charged at 1 amp. 1200= 1.2 amps. 3500= 3.5 amps. 4500= 4.5 amps and so on. You adjust the charge rate(amps) accordingly for different battery capacity. With that said, I like to charge nimh batterys a little lower than 1c(examples of charge rates above are 1c). I charge all my rx packs at .8 amps. I have some 3800mah Tenergy 6 cells I run in my frankenpede. I charge them at 3 amps. Charging at lower amp rates keeps battery temps down and makes the packs last a little longer.

I like the duratrax 1600 mah receiver packs. They're not that expensive and they have thick wires on them as well.
