Well were finally going to upgrade the tv. We want a 50" and not sure what to look for I know LCD is the way to go above plasma cause of the screen burning deal but I would like to hear some of your guys' thoughts on what to get. Our price range is preferably around 500 but could give a little I suppose.

Look for the lowest price lol.

Have you looked at Vizio? I know some of their models look really nice. I have a 42 or 46" Samsung and love it!

I only have a 32" but its a Sharp and I really like it. Plus Sharp makes a 108", get that one! lol.

I just bought my father a 37" Vizio for Christmas as a Black Friday special and I was pretty impressed with the picture quality on it! I personally have a Samsung 56" DLP and it kicks ass. I wasn't planning to hang it on the wall...so DLP works perfectly for me. Got 8000 hours out of the first bulb in it...... $88 for a bulb...hoping to get another 8000 out of it!

The latest plasmas do not have burn in issues. We've had our Samsung 52" for 2 years now and with heavy usage it never had any burn in or ghosting issues.
What is the ambient light in the room? If it has bright lighting, most lcds will have less glare. The plasma will have truer blacks.

Whatever you do decide to get....don't forget the blu-ray player. :D

I haven't really paid attention to tv's latley but I do like my LG, great picture with nice features. Just wait until you play the PS3 in HD....Make sure to get a good HDMI cable so you can get the full 1080p!!!!!!!!

The lighting is pretty dim usually. Oh the HDMI will come the same day as the tv trust me lol Lucky for me the PS3 IS A BLU-RAY PLAYER!!! (stoked)

Get the movie "300" as one of your first blu-rays. It will knock your socks off.:whhooo:

Planet Earth 5 disc set is pretty good too.
