What about Rock Crawl Racing?

I was watching Speedvision, here in Canada, and I saw Rock Crawl Racing and it looked sweet! Are there races set up like this?

I saw a show on that recently too. Looked pretty cool, but man was there alot of broken parts..lol.. I havnt heard of any races for Rc's set up like this though.

More of a Rock Crawling competition, then a race. There are many of these videos out there for 1:1, and R/C. I'll see if I cand dig up a few...

Thats what a crawling competition is....kinda. The truck that can complete the course with the least amount of penalties and the fastest time wins.

the difference between rock racing and crawling is in racing you dont get a 10 minute time limit to complete the course like in crawling. i also heard in racing some of these crawler get up to 40mph going through some of these courses. while in crawling 10 mph is preety fast if they get there.

Think hes talking about Rock racing. Its a 1:1 race with rock crawlers. Its a offroad course that races in laps between crawlers that has hills, rocks, trees and stuff in the track. I just watched a show on it on the Speed channel. Looked like some cool stuff, but like I said, these guys broke ALOT of parts.

Thats exactly what I saw. There was no cones or anything to make the boundries, the crawlers just hauled a*s, and it looked like it'd be a blast! I think that could also be a great addition to racing by placing obstacles around the track.

Maybe the obstacles could be modified, so a hard impact wouldn't do too damage if it all?

hey just wondering did you see this on extreme 4x4 on spike tv? they gave an episode which a small bit of info on it. that was where i got some of my info from.

I saw that episode as well as another race on Speedvision. I don't think having more obstacles on the track wouldn't be more fun though Zandor. You'd have a harder time negotiating the track.

What I meant by having modifiied obstacles, is not to have big jagged rocks, but maybe piles of round rocks, which a truck could go over at a fairly quick speed but still make it more of a challenge then just jumps.
