I walked into a building that I'm working in and come across this huge security guard (minimum wage job).
I thought that I knew him from somewhere, so I started with the routine questions.
What school did you go to, where do you live, etc. Didn't add up.
On the way home my co worker asked me if I knew who that was.
He told me that it was Carl "The Truth" Williams (heavy weight boxer).
After working there now for 2 months, I feel bad and wondered what went wrong in his life that brought him from the #1 contender in the heavy weight division, to a security guard for a building.

I see this guy all the time.

I give him credit for working a 9 to 5, but what a waste of talent.

Anyway, here he is getting knocked out by Mike Tyson. I feel that the fight could have continued.

Are you sure it's him? Could be pulling your leg.

If it is, that's a hell of a slide. With his reputation and all, you'd think he could at least work in the business when he was done in the ring.

Was it Riddick Bowe(sp) that was a crossing guard in between his comeback?

You know most of those guys fall victim to the coruptness of boxing. It's really a shame what scumbags like Don King and other managers and promoters have done to boxing and boxers. So many of these guys go out there for the big purses are lucky to get poop at the end of the day by the time everyone who has thier hooks in the guy takes their cut. Very few of them are smart enough to either manage their own money wisely or hire someone that isn't going to take them for a ride and pilfer all they can. Also, it really hasn't been all that long that some of these fight purses have been what they are. If you look at some of the fighters in the UFC (I know it's not boxing but MMA) some are lucky to get $4K to WIN a fight. King of the Cage you might be lucky to take home $1K to win. Undercards in boxing to get poop either.

Oh it's him.
His name tag show his name, and looking at his pictures on the web, there's no doubt.

Theres a Ex-Minnesota Viking working as a doorman here at one of the casinos. His names Joey Browner. Nice guy. I can't imagine that pays to well, but he seemed happy anyway.

Joey Browner? I used him on Techmo Bowl for the NES.....................

Paul Varlens is a bouncer at a local strip joint near my work. I stopped by for the lunch buffet one day and was shocked to see him working there. He was a pretty good fighter in the earlier UFCs until Marco Juas chopped him down with leg kicks in a championship bout.
