I applied at Publix for my first job. The pressure is on. If I get hired I'll start in mid June. Hopefully in the stocker department because honestly I don't think I'll be able to handle talking to people all day.

First job? Wow man, congratulations! It's always a big step because you will encounter a lot of firsts. Whatever you do remain positive and enjoy the work. Never become part of the negative groups at the workplace. You should always look forward to the next day at work and then it will seem like you are rolling paycheck after paycheck. Nothing like being able to save up for your own parts and not having to ask for someone to buy them.

I actually got a promotion today to a new position within my company too, so yeah...party on! Our headquarters is actually in Florida so you might be familiar with us, The Nielsen Company ring a bell?

I don't think so.... what do they do?

The survey for the application thing was REALLY long and to be honest had some really stupid questions on it lol

i always thought it was a good idea to be a bag boy. helping old people carry there packages to there car, collecting tips. seems like the kids around here are doing well with that.

good luck with the first job.

and marauder, I've never heard of the neilson company. what do they do?

Have you ever heard of Nielsen Ratings? It would take days to explain the scope of everything, you'd have to check google if you really wanted to know. I work specifically for BASES which is the pre-market insights division owned by Nielsen. In a nutshell, we tell companies if their products will sell to their targeted audience compared to our massive databases and research data. Its extremely complex, but pays the bills. :)

Anyway, sorry for the thread hijack...if anyone has any more questions about what I do you can pm me.

Good. It's about time. Get your ass up and get to work. Start paying your way around here, you freeloading bastard.
And congratulations. At 16, any job is a good job. Nothing better than the feeling of having a little extra cash in your pocket.
