Well I broke down and bought one today

Yep I couldn't resist and bought the only one at my lhs today. I was only able to get one tank through it and I like it so far. For being so big and heavy the .21 was pretty peppy for a break in drive. I look forward to getting her tuned in and seeing what she can do. The thundertiger was a breeze to start for a new engine and the setup if more user friendly than my savage but only time will tell as I drive this truck.

So you have a Savage and a AE gt?

I would really like to know how the two compare, from somone who has both. I love the speed of a stadium truck, but I want to be able to climb and jump better. I am just a plain old parking lot, hillclimb masher heheh.

Durability, and speed is what I am interested in, keep us updated

Well the mgt is easy to service and start however the parts seem fragile compared to the savage. At first the mgt was faster than my s25 but after I replaced the stock air filter on it with a motor saver filter and made a few adjustments the savage will run away from the mgt. I've always respected ae's replacement parts availability even for old models like rc10t which I still have in ready to run condition. It's just that since I've moved to nitro all of my electrics have been collecting dust on the shelf. I will say that my savage is a much tougher truck than the mgt but I suppose that it comes down to what you want. I personally would like to own one of every monster in production but that's just me because I like toys.:hamster:

Dude congrats on the new purchase. I love the design of the new AE. It is very different from the savage. I like how the motor sits in it. I still am not sure what I think of the traditional type of chassis that the maxx and the ae offer.

tough trucks

alot of people like the savage better abd say that it is a stronger truck-- well in my opinion the only thing the savage got on the gt is speed-- as far as being tougher-- every time me and my friend go out bashing-- he has a savage and me a gt-- he is always breaking something on his truck that ruins the rest of his day-- i go for the gt all the way

I finally got rid of my Savage, I compared it to an RC car you would buy from walmart. It was the worst I have ever owned. Every time we would go run our trucks it would break even if I tried to baby it it broke. I was very disgusted with the Savage. I now own a MGT and love it. If you want the MGT to go crazy fast change the motor and some gears, you can make it run. For me I am happy with the stock motor. Good luck with your new truck!

when i took my savage to the jumps i would run it into trees and slam it into the ground, the only thing that happened to it was a missing screw in the bumper. i think the savage is a really strong truck!!

I don't have my Savage yet, but I have a ton of videos of them, and them seem to be pretty tough.
When I think of tough trucks, I think Savage and MGT.

for me sav and mgt for durability I've ran my mgt and sav in the same place where one would run and both can handle pretty well...well some tie rods getting off or strip spurs but right now thats all I've ben breaking..mgt is also faster than sav imo ..except maybe now that sav has 4.6

yes my Savage was brand new and broke in properly. It just flat out was not a tough truck.

Even though I love my Savage.. i like the MGT a lot more. But, I still think the Savage si tougher. I was running it wild this past weekend and it took some nasty crashes to break. Well, it didn't really break, I blew a shock.
