weight reduction?

Okay so how well dose weight reduction work on rc cars I would guess it would improve accell but not to much on top end and I right and the things i was thinkin about reducing wastrimming the knobs off of the tires grinding off some of the shell and maby some off the excess metal all around the truck

That's not going to do much, if you trim the body wrong it will actually decrease speed. I know guys who have high speed rigs put weight in it to keep it on the ground. My exo with slicks doesn't hook up for anything.

Check out the double barrelled flux thread in projects and builds....that guy added weight

On my Micro Desert Truck, I added almost 3x its original weight to keep it on the ground and to try to give it a small amount of traction.

At my local onroad track, the serious racers actually try to leave as much of the lexan as possible on their shells to help with drag and lift.

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Weight reduction is more often a good thing compared to adding weight.

Less weight = Better acceleration and less mass involved in a crash.

I was trying to get better accel and handeling for drifting on dirt

your suspension is what you need to play with on dirt. for accel you can play with your gearing, unless you are already maxed out on it. Unless you have a TON of experience with RC's I wouldn't go and start trimming metal off your rig. One bad cut and you will introduce a weak spot.
