The last attempt I made at waterproofing, resulted in a run away. Are there any tricks of the trade you wanna share?

I put my receiver, failsafe and battery pack in balloons and struggled to pack them back into the car. The balloons tore, they leaked, the car went run away and my steering servo burnt out not long after.

I'm not talking about making a submarine here. I'm talking about surviving medium length wet grass and mud and a splash or two now and again through some 2" deep puddles. Is that too much to ask?

I have had pretty good luck with the job I did on my Revo, for the throttle servo I used the TRX 2075 waterproof servo and since the airtronics steering servo points down I just put a little rtv around it. As far as rx goes I got a good rx box(Tekno) and then rtv'd the crap out of the seals just to make sure it was splash proof. btw I left the battery unsealed so it wouldn't get warm plus water doesn't seem to hurt it as long as I don't let it rust. kinda related I took the Mamba esc out of my slash and waterproofed it using plasti-dip, so far it has held up to some underwater adventures with no problems:D I also like to use a some WD-40 on the outer filter of my motor saver filter just to help repel water, not sure if it helps or not but all of my issues so far have been driver related:hehe:

i have had great experiences with the plasti-dip stuff. just go onto youtube.com and type in nitro truck waterproofing. it worked great for me.

I have good luck just avoiding water all together. Bearings will rust and seize, tires foams will get wet causing tire shake, and everything gets wicked dirty.;)

Very true, every time I run mine in the water I make sure and at least tear out the wheel bearings and wd-40 + oil them just to keep from rusting but it's fun none the less:)

I have been running my maxx on a huge drift in my yard lately, but the big joes are like snowshoes and the snow is more like ice. It only gets a little in the wheels that's it.
