So I bought a Shift RC GT3 servo for my SCX10iii. It was supposed to be waterproof. It was not. One wet run and it’s acting all out of sorts. It won’t center itself and when it does center it goes past center a little ways then slowly comes back. But I took it apart and can’t seem to find any evidence of a major water intrusion. But the rubber seal wasn’t seated at all. When I get time I’ll try it on a different truck but I think it’s smoked. Sorry for the rant.

many rc electronics say they are waterproof but are not sorry can't give you what your after but you can try wd40 do like 10
+ coats good luck there are other waterproof spays but the are way more and a 2 part application. I've used flex seal also

Never believe that the electronics are 100% waterproof more like splash proof. And rule of thumb any time buying new electronics or Rc kit. Give it a once over make sure everything is where it should be all seals and screws are tight. Stuff never comes from factory 100% RTR. Let it dry out 100% before introducing power back to it. Might still work. They do make 100% waterproof electronics. But you should still give it a once over never assume that the little China man maken 1000 if them a day. Made sure everyone was spot on and quality controll checked everyone.. keep that in mind

Yeah I don’t usually run mine in water either but I built this one to be a mud truck. So I figured I would try it. It wasn’t even a lot of water. Maybe halfway up the tires lol. I guess I’ll invest in some waterproofing for the future. I didn’t think I would have to start pulling electronics apart when I get them to make sure they are right but I will now. Any ideas on a good waterproof spray or epoxy?
