I have been looking into purchasing a Wasp .26 but i have noticed that on some websites (i.e. towerhobbies) that there are two versions. There is a standard and a pullstart. The pullstart is about 25-30 dollars more. Is the price difference simply the pullstart or is there more involved. I was hoping to use the roto start from my S25, so could i go with just the standard and save some duckets? Will the Wasp simply bolt right in or does it need some mods? Also if anyone knows where to get a cheap Wasp .26 could you let me know. Thanks

Shogun, You are lookin into exactly what I am. Your just a bit ahead of me. My 25 is only 3 months old or so, but like what RC nitro had to say about the was .26. Sound like the torque monster that we are lookin for. I love the Roto-Start system on the 25. I'd hate to go back to pullin-da-chicken. Let us know how it goes. I'll be ready.

ThanX

You need to get the pullstart for the savage.. or you won't have any way of starting it.. (to put the rotostart on you need to have the Pullstart backplate and crankshaft)

It would be more out of pocket expense to get the pullstart version. However in the long run the non pullstart version would be more expensive because you would not only have to change the crankshaft you would have to get a new backplate and one way bearing and pull starter. The roto start will work with the wasp you should just get the adapter for the roto start backplate.

So if i understand correctly i need to get the pullstart version to put on the rotostart. And if i get the non pullstart version i will need to change out some parts to make it work with my rotostart. If this is true, what is the standard one for. Thank for the info.

The standard one would be for anything that a starter box will work for. See the savage or most any Monster Truck is just too high to have the starter box wheel contact the flywheel to turn the engine over. Either on roads stadium trucks or best of all buggy's.
