Warning about FMS

I was in the market for a 1/18 crawler and I figured I'd look at FMS, since they were early to that scale.

Unfortunately finding spare parts hasn't been easy. I've been told that they aren't shipping anything to hobby shops anymore, and when I looked on Amain they barely have anything from FMS. For having near Traxxas pricing I was expecting better support than WLToys.

i can relate to this issue, i dont have an fms but i have a few that have poor aftermarket support options, now i look around before deciding on a purchase see whats out there in the way of upgrades before i buy, i dig a few of the fms models, but I'm too rough on my trucks (alledgedly )

I have gotten my Power Wagon upgrades from Amazon, factory parts I order directly from FMS. So far no issues.

Agree with @PaPa K never had a problem getting parts. Direct from FMS website or Amazon.

Not here in the U.S. They aren't like Axial or Traxxas, they don't usually sell through hobby shops. Parts support usually comes directly from FMS. But they also have good aftermarket support for upgrade parts through other companies like Injora and Treal. If you search what you are looking for, there is a good chance you can find it on Amazon.

I've never had an issue getting parts through FMS or Amazon. Lots of aftermarket support too. I don't think anyone needs a warning beyond the usual Chinese manufacturer that doesn't have a lot of LHS support. But that's normal for a ton of well respected brands.

I ended up tearing the front axles out of my power Wagon. No luck at my local hobby store. Ended finding a pair of stainless steel axels on Amazon. At first I thought I was gonna have to buy the whole axel unit. Mashigan and fj 40 are compatible. I believe

Try looking on the China websites, AliExpress, and Temu!! They had all the parts I needed for my Atlas and
FJ40.

I purchased the fms 1/10 Ford f100 model. I had it about a week and the front steering servo bolt came out during riding in the backyard and would not steer anymore, needless to say. I ordered directly from FMS and the parts were here within a week. They sent them out free of charge . I'll have to say that this particular F-100 is one of my favorites right now , actually I only have two rC vehicles, the other being a Traxxas slash vsl , which is a very high quality and durable model . The FMS is two-wheel drive and it's fun popping wheelies and racing around my back lot . Actually, I sort of stink on controlling this rC , but practice will help me out. All this to say I really like the FMS vehicle, but upgrades might be a bit difficult to come by ?

You can get parts directly from FMS... they have a US warehouse. Another option is FairRC.

Upgrades are available for the cheaper FMS Vehicles, like your F100. Many parts are universal to that 2WD F100, learn the name of the parts, buy from Amazon, EBay, or if you wanna save a ton of money, try AliExpress and also Temu, I savedplenty on them, tires, and wheels, aluminum upgrade bits,

4x4 VXL Slash and Baja 5b bought when they first came out in 2006, since then lots of upgrades two motors, the one that’s in there started out as a 23 cc and it’s up to 30cc now. New Boxed Motor motor. Ready for install as soon as this engine wears out.
