i've had probably 2 bad sheds since i've had him...one was my fault for keeping the humidity too low, and the most recent one was due to the RI i believe...either way, a good soak in the tub(easier said than done) in some lukewarm water, then i just kind of lightly rub him with a towel and the leftover skin comes right of...i dont try to get it all at once, ill soak him, and get some of it off, then do it again in a couple days till i get it all off...and i've never had any feeding problems with him..i feed live, and the only goes off feed in the winter for 4-6 weeks..which is normal. you said you were picking up crickets....do you feed them to your ball?!...i've always wondered if they would eat crickets, not much nutritional value from what i've read, but a decent snack between meals

I asked about your because when I got mine people kept saying they are a pita when it come to feeding and sheding, but I havent had a bad shed of missed a feeding date unless he was in the process of shedding. I am getting crikets for my amevia. I usually pick up around 200 of them. Since his mouth isnt that big I dont have to get the adult crickets I can get the small ones. A bp wont eat a cricket I can't remember why (saw it on another forum) but it would probaby take 100 crickets to fill it up.

I think I am going to breed them again to save money I spend anywhere from 7 to 20 bucks on crickets depending on how many and who is at the chasheer.

yeah that cash adds up..and to think, its for some damn bugs..lol...yeah, i have heard all that about them being tough feeders and such, but i've never had a problem. he's just over 3 feet, 650 grams. only problems i've had with him was the RI but that was because i had to leave him in the care of my aunt during my recent move and his heater had burned out and she didnt know it...as long as you keep your temps and humidity right, you shouldnt have any problems.

Here are some from earier today

The lamp is clamped on to the head board of my bed becasue I was changing the water. It usually lays on the screen top above the peices of wood. That lamp and bulb is only temperary. I have to get a uv bulb and I have another lamp the holds to bulbs at once.

Those snakes look small... One my friends in REALLY into reptiles. They had over 10 iguanas, 5 snakes (boas, pythons, kings), and a few skinks at one time. But, the most memorable snake i remember was pushing 15ft long, and easily 150lbs. That thing was so huge, and EXTREMELY strong!!! I wish i had a pic, because he was so cool. I would hate to have something that big escape, and be hungry...

Ball pythons and corns wont get passed 6 feet. Ball pythons are mainly around 4 feet as males and females are in the 5 feet range but some are bigger. I know how you feel though. My moms friend hard an albino burneese. I was with my mom though so I didnt get to even be around it. I used to have 3 iguanas. One of the was 6 feet from tail to snout and the others were in the 3 feet range.

My ball python is only around a year old.

you feed the bp crickets :loser:

why dont you do the same as me go out get two rats 1 male and 1 female

breed them when they are about the size u want. grab one buy the tail go outside and knock it over the head on a stone or something.

you might not like killing any animal but this game is going to cost you loads of dough thias way its cheaper and you can sell them to a pet shop live/dead and your mates (if tey have got snakes)

just my :2cents:

i know ill be doing that

i like snakes, I always wanted one but parents wouldnt go for it. I had to settle for Tarantulas.

dannyd your snakes are awsome.
and nirto_freak_123 your corn is awsome too, I like albino snakes.

Nitro freak I breed crickets for my amevia. I dont want to breed rats because that will be more money I have to spend Keeping them healthy and getting 2 or 3 more tanks to house the males, females and their pups.. Its much cheaper buying frozen ones and leaving them in the freezer. When it comes to breeding crickets I can give them oatmeal or cerial and a wet paper towel then keep the in one of my 2.5 gallon tanks or the rubber made shown in the pic above and call it a day.

I use this site http://www.anapsid.org/crickets.htmlto breed my Crickets, I also feed them bits of veggies.

Thats what I used the first time I breed crickets. I ended up with close to 1000 crickets no lie. I also used the veges and fruits but that was one of the causes for their crap smelling so bad. When I switched to more dry food the smell got better and now I dont even smell anything. I have my cricket tank in my room with no lid and I dont smell a thing.

tarant my corn aint a albino has he havent got red eyes! hes a snow corn/rat snake

I know what you mean. I put a heating pad under my crickets tank and they dont smell at all, they poo gets dried out and doesn't smell,

But if you want a food source that doesn't smell, make noise, breeds well and is more nutritious them crickets, You have to get roaches, They are more $$ but the breed very well and are way worth it, I only use crickets for massive feedings, I use roaches a lot more and I like them a lot better then crickets.
