So my mom got me the new savage x 4.6 rtr the 2011 one with the gt-3 body anyway I have some questions ... Are savages really as durable as everyone says??!!
I'm coming from a traxxas t maxx which broke constantly... so I wouldn't know and also its about 50 degrees here in Rochester is that too cold to break in my f4.6 engine and if not what temps should the engine be geting too?? Thatnks everyone! Can't wait to get her running!!!

Rochester MN? YES, they are very durable. Like I mentioned in your other post, you may want to shimm the diffs to avoid stripping teeth off the ring and pinion. If you plan on breaking it in, you better do it quick, the temps are dropping. ;)

Good Deal man!! you won't be disapointed at all with the Savage. Like you I had a T-MAXX 3.3 and was always breaking down and having to upgrade parts. The Savage is a much better and tougher truck to bash with. It can really take a beating.

We got that Truck a month or 2 ago, great beast to go along with my XL's.

The servos are beyond junk, went out on us the second time we ran the Truck.

The Truck is good out the box. We added a XL Tuned Pipe that works great on the 4.6.

We broke all the lower arms in the first few weeks, plastic is brittle in the cold, however a full set of RPM upper & lower arms have us running no problem.

I suggest the first list of stuff to get go like this..

Servos
Hump Pack Battery/Fast Charger
Tuned Pipe
Wheelie Bar
Hellfire Red dot Springs
35wt Shock Oil
HPI Sway Bar Kit
XL Drive Cups, Dogbones & Axles
Dirt Bonz Tires

Thanks guy hopefulllyyy it won't snow after Christmas for a couple days and stays in the 40 s and 50 s like it has been

Man I wish I had 50* weather. It has not been above freezing for more than a few hours in a couple weeks. No nitro for me here...lol. Yes the Savage is a very tough beast. You will find yourself breaking a lot fewer things.

gotta say.. savage has to be toughest truck out there .. HPI did an AMAZING job on it.. i have the 2011 model aswell and just yesterday i took it on about a jump that launched me 20 ft and landed completely upside down because it hit this rail and literally the only thing that broke was a ziptie on the ehaust. everything else was perfect.
