yea putting them on a rc 10 gt is easy, justa longer screw thru rear shocktower and bulkhead.with magnet around output drive.and found good size heatshrink to use after gluing, fit snug around magnet and output ,even before i heated it. also got extra sensors and magnets 4 other cars,so i just swap the unit

0 also mounted 1 on a 1/10 top fuel lite dragster, little tricky, had to use a traxxas style rod end on about 2inches of 4/40 rod,fed the rod thru a hole in the rear bearing block(that was already there,1 on each bearing block4 weelie bar i think)then sensor turned to face rear axle and mounted thru the rodend, then u put bolt on other end of rod to secure it.magnet easy right on rear axle with glue and heatshrink

o and i had to dremmel 1 side of the rod end flat where the sensor layed on it to help it clear the magnet

Venom Speedo Installed!

Hey, Kwong how you doing? I just finished installing the venom speedo in my fusion. On a small parking lot less that 275 ft I hit 68 mph. I have got to find a bigger lot because I had to stop before topping out in third.:)

Best I can do is about 60mph. My engine just doesn't make power on the top end. I eventually wanna get maybe a RB concept engine of some kind with a nice top end.

Kwong.. That is very, very fast considering that you did that with a 12 size motor!! If associated only made the gearing I bet you could hit 70 mph!! Maybe 80 mph with a big block novarossi 15 if the gearing was right. I figure you would need a final gear ratio of 3.5 to hit 80.:)

Kwong, I wanted an engine that was more powerful than the thundertiger 21. But you were severely limited with regards to what engine you could use, if it did not have a pullstart or an roto start system, you could not use it. Well you can put a rotostart system on a hyper 8-port and it drops right in the fusion. I can tell all ready that it is alot faster than my thundertiger. Here is a picture of my installation.

You know, you don't need to have a starting system. Just get a starter box for a 21 and you won't have to deal with starters...at all.

Seems to me that if an 8 port drops in the fusion, then you can pretty much put in any engine you want. Why'd you go with an 8 port? They're more torque than anything else.

Kwong- Clearance problems, the motor sits up high so it does not rub against the belt to used a starter box the flywheel's wheel diameter would have to be so big so it would stick thru the chassis plate to hit the starter box wheel that it would rub the rear diff case.Besides when I can use avaliable tech why go thru all that? This is a test motor only I am trying to adapt this to my RB C-5 that is my ultimate goal. Then I am gonna really give that speedo a workout.:) With the tall gears that I am running a little extra torque is not going to hurt, except this engine seems to be a more of a top end motor than a torque monster.

70 mph!!

I found a larger parking lot today and got up to 70mph before I hit a rock and went flying thru the air! Minor damage to the fusion it is going to be down for a while. :w00t:

54 sounds pretty freakinf fast to a Savage hauler. (and the car you say is "dirty" Oh mann. Looked like a "pristeen virgin" to me. I'm thinkin that the Venom Temp monitor might be a good thing to have. Anybody have experience with that?

haha, kinda reminds me when I was showing wdavidhicks what a 50+ mph car looks like at speed...I was driving and hit a patch of cement that had a slight bump and did probably 30 cartwheels for like 60 feet, all while doing 57mph.

I didn't have a whole lot of damage. Just a damaged diff case and one broke titanium pivot ball.

They say haste makes waste I did not inspect the area before I did the run!! There was rocks and loose gravel in an area I could not see. But the speed I reached is encouraging.:classic:

Yeah, sometimes I won't inspect where I run either. But that day, I drove the 1:1 around it to look for an obstructions (sp?).

Too bad i'm probably gonna be going electric by this summer :(
