Alrighty, just picked up the SC8 and installed the Venom smart temp fail-safe and it seems no matter what I set it to turning off the radio causes WOT when it should be full brake.

There's a reverse direction function on the fail safe, but this doesn't seem to change the direction.

Obviously, WOT is not a good situation should I lose radio contact.

I suspect a compatability issue with the Fail-safe and servo. I have two fail-safes to check this, and both cause this problem.

Have I missed something?

Venom failsafes are junk. Take it back, put the money torwards a good 2.4ghz radio with a built in failsafe. There is no need for a temperature failsafe, as long as there is smoke coming out the exhaust you'll be fine. The Thunder Tiger engine that comes on the RC8/SC8 runs on the warm side anyways. The couple I have seen run like to run around 260F just to start making power.

ahh figured it out. Reversing the fail-safe direction doesn't actually change the direction until you change the value on screen 4 from 1 to 32 or vis versa depending on your settings in screen 6.

I've ran this fail-safe on 4 vehicles with no issue. seems to work just fine with my 2.4ghz system.

You already have a 2.4ghz radio, good. If you like the failsafe and it works for you, that's great. Not my cup of tea. I like to keep my electronics simple. Less to go wrong and deal with.
