I bought this hopped-up T-MAXX from a racer and owner of Xtreme Hobbies in Pearl River, NY and for this being my first nitro R/C, this truck is awesome and I love it. It came with the stock MAXX wheels and tires, I just added some white outlaw wheels and some MAXX Mulcher tires. The truck has been pretty much completely rebuilt with a complete set of RPM parts, Sirio .18 TX motor, Integy shocks. I had to strap down the fuel tank since it loosens up. It came with a clear body and this was my first time painting one.
Thanks to Pat at Xtreme Hobbies for building a sweet machine!!!

LOL.....to come to think of it.....the white and blue I chose for body colors does kinda remind me of a Smurf.

I believe the shop owner took it out especially since the fuel tank has been relocated. A few things he eliminated for weight. There is a battery under the fuel tank. Forgive me, as I am still a noob to all this and identifying parts. But the truck is fast and he tuned it today to adjust to the hot weather.

Ok I can see it now. 5 cell flat hump pack in blue shrink wrap. Be careful with it under the chassis plate because most of the dirt and grime coming off your tires will be pelting your batteries.

You might want to consider moving the battery pack to the top side of the chassis. Running it beneath the chassis is just asking for trouble.

Other than that, it looks like a pretty nice ride. Have fun and welcome to the hobby and RCNT.

nice truck, decked out in RPM, RC Raven chassis... all blue sweet. next u will probly be buying some aluminum bulkheads. very sweet lookin. i have that same fuel tank on my t-maxx and it works great. Also i have heard lots of good things about the maxx mulchers, good choice on tires

Real nice looking. I know the store where you bought it. It's about 15 minutes from where I used to live.
There's also a store in the Spring Valley Market Place. (Next to a Sheridan motor lodge.) From Pearl River, go north on 304 to Rt. 59 east. Go over the New York State Thruway. It's the next right, then an immediate right into their lot. Check them out.
I believe it's called Bruckner Hobbies.
There's been some talk of them starting up a track in Rockland County.

Hell of a nice truck for a "newbe"
I wish someone would have turned me on to something like that for my 1st truck!

Congrats! Now go get it DIRTY! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=devil

That's a great lookin' truck. I am intrigued by the four-shock setup. It looks like four standard Integy shocks with dual-rate springs (the two spring version). Plus, I am curious why the guy would spend so much money and not use an extended chassis, especially for racing.

I think the battery pack is in the correct place to help lower CG. Steve Slayden, one of the top Maxx racers in the country, has his battery in same place. Here is a pic of Slayden's setup:

The above pic came from here: http://www.traxxas.com/support/pub/the_complete_setup_guide_for_tmaxx.htm

NJRC, if that's your first paint job, well, all I can say is

Thanks for the compliments on my newbie truck. I will see if I can get more info from the builder on some of the parts he used which includes trans, and diffs since he swapped internals also.

The tank on slaydens is a rustler tank if I'm not mistaken. The tank on NJRC is an ofna buggy tank.

Here's my 2.5 maxx with an orion 18 and the buggy tank for a different looking animal:

Here's a pic of my racer sporting a new Picco .26 engine. Man, this thing really rips up the turf now, lol. I'm gonna go practice at the track and see what happens with this new engine.

Olds, where'd you get the roll bar? I really do need one like that. Also, what is the shock setup you're using? Do you use it for big jumps? If so, does it work good for jumping?

I got this truck on a trade and the shocks came with it.

Although, I put the springs on since I had them lieing around. I'm using 2 trinity black and 2 supermaxx blue on the rear, 2 supermax white and 2 integy blue on the front. I believe the shocks are integy msr2's and I'm running 55 weight shock oil in them.

The roll bar is a full force rc roll bar. It's kind of cheesey and came with 3mm screws to hold it on. I retapped it to 4mmX15mm to get a better support. I have new era's 3 point roll bar on my 21 maxx and will probably get another one down the road to replace this one. The full force one is nowhere near as strong build wise and mounting wise as the new era 3-point.

The last time I took it out, I was doing 6 foot jumps for about 2 hours before some kids showed up at the skatepark. Then I left. I quit doing much over 6 feet high since all it does is break stuff. You can have just as much fun in the 5 foot range as the 10-20 foot range. The only difference is the pics aren't near as cool! Still fun though.

What's that shock behind your front tower?
