I saw some upper control arms with shock mounts built in to use T-maxx shocks on the savage. They make some pretty nice shock kits for the maxx, but I'm sure there will be a loss of travel with the shorter shocks. Has anyone experimented with these? Or at least think of any other drawbacks to get them off my mind...

NewEraModels, alot of peeps use them and like them. You will get some good info on this subject here.

I use them and really like them. I'm using the UE SuperMaxx shocks as well (4). If your a basher, the arms work well, but if your a racer, they don't give you much tunability like the Nova towers. Although, I'm really leary of using aluminum for shock towers or lower arms due to those parts taking the brunt of most impacts. It's easier to replace an arm or a shock tower than it is a set of bulkheads.

So for me, the arms are the better choice.

Thanks guys, at least now I know I'm not wasting my time checking it out. It looks like one of them could be a worthwhile investment in handling. See ya at the track...
