After replacing almost all the plastics to my t-maxx, I want to upgrade to some aluminum parts and I already have an idea of what parts I want but it would be cool to get some different point of views from you guys!

So far what I have in my shopping list is:
  • ACNCM bulkheads + braces
  • FLM shocktower
  • New Era Skid Plate super duty combo
  • New Era lower chassis brace

I don't know what else I should get to make my tmaxx the ultimate bashing machine

This is what my tmaxx looks like right now. everything is pretty much stock the only things I have upgraded parts are XXL Big Bore Shocks and a Savox SC- 1258TG Super Speed Titanium Gear steering servo.

I was also thinking about converting the tranny to forward only. Would that make a difference in the performance?

getting rid of reverse on a 2.5 maxx is possible the single best thing you can do for them ,it lightens up the truck itself and allow the trans to spin much faster.
other than that ditch the ez start for a pullstart and glow ignitor and probably look at some better tires after that

Oh cool. Yea I was thinking about getting rid of the ez starter I never really liked it in the first place. What tires do you think would be best?

That's all great advice right there^
A rechargeable receiver battery will give you better servo response and longer run times that AA's :mustache:

as well as the last 2 suggestions I would also look at maybe some rpm arms but I would do that that if you break the stock ones.
also its a 2.5?,i would also suggest getting the 3.3 exhaust off ebay ,they seem to wake the 2.5 up well and while you're there also get the traxxas 2 stage airfilter and rock on :)

Yea it's a 2.5 and thats cool I never thought about using the 3.3 exhaust. Thanks bro!(: all great advise!

One problem I'm having on the FLM website for the shock towers, I don't know why it's not letting me buy anything... is the site for members only? if so how do I sign up?

You need to order through a dealer (link at the top of the home page) either on-line or store front hobby shop for FLM parts. Usually can find them on ebay as well.

RPM wear plates for the New Era skids are a big +...

the newest updates on my tmaxx:

•Forward only conversion (done)
•Motor Saver 2 stage air filter (done)
•Traxxas resonator 2 chamber exhaust (done)
•Ditched the ez starter for the recoil starter(done)

If you don't mind roto start I would recommend the Novarossi 2.5 , about 180 bucks from amain and it comes with a manifold and pipe to suit.
they have a bit more power than the 3.3 but it will rev to the moon and come back for more.other than that i would go for a 3.3 or the picco max .21.

oh nice I'll definitely check it out. I was thinking of going with the 3.3 but I wonna keep my options open to see what else is out there.

I switched from the pull start to ez-start. Life is so much easier!

The 3.3 isn't a bad engine as long as your tuning skill are good .They get a bum rap coz a lot of noobs get and can't tune, snap a rod and blame the engine.
However that being said I would totally get another nova, I'm in the process of converting it to pull start which would make my life easier.

The Picco Max .21 is a beast of an engine also. I would highly recommend it. On the cheap side of things the Mach .19 also puts out good power not sure about dependability though.

yea tuning isn't a problem for me lol I already converted mine to pull start and it's so much better than that stupid ez start I never liked it from the beginning.

Thanks I'll definitely check it out and compare. I don't necessarily have a price limit on the engines as long as they're not crazy expensive lol.
