Suggestions for a Upgraded Pipe and Shocks for my S-maxx

I am going to invest in a new pipe and shocks for my S-maxx I'm open for any suggestions and feedbacks. And I got a question have any of you guys heard about the outlaw pipe or own it, if so holla back cause I'm very intrested in that pipe. I have the Trx .25 engine.

Thanks

Evan

Well it depends if you want 4 shocks or 8? If you go 4 shocks I like the Mugen 1/8 buggy shocks. The are a little bigger in diameter and this helps with the added weight. If you go 8 shocks I always liked the Losi shocks but I never saw a 8 shock Maxx that could handle as well as a properly tuned 4 shock setup. Now when I say properly tuned I mean the correct wieght in oil, the right size holes and number of holes in the shock piston, and the right springs. You will want to play around so buy as a few different wieghts in oil and a few different spring rates. For an inexpensive option I used the GS 1/8 scale shocks that come on the Storm RTR. You can get a ton of dual rate springs. The only thing is the shafts can bend so I would swap them out for so super strong Kyosho shafts. As far as a pipe, what engine? The 2.5? If so are you running a tight track or do you have big long straights? If you need more top end the Sirio Big Bore pipe works well with the 2.5 to not sacrafice to much low end but give you more top end. That is my take, I am sure others will have just as good if not better suggestions.

So, if i were to go to the 4 shock setup, i wouldn't have to use the Ofna shocks that UE sells? I think i may want to go with some racing/bashing shocks, just wondering...

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm intresting.................

going to 4 shocks is not bad they are easy to adjust but u dont get the many adjustments but it depends on were u race.

I just bought the Power Strokes for my Maxx not long ago, but I haven't been able to run it yet. You guys have any opinions on them?

For my setup I'm runnin 8 of the traxxas big bores. I like to jump alot so i knew i wanted 8 instead of 4. Then i got the rc raven dual rate springs and put them in all around. I love the setup and have no complaints.

As for the pipe, i have the rd logics curved t maxx pipe. The thing screams and looks awesome! I would definietly recommend it!

i run 8 big bore shocks as well with the heavy dark blue springs with 40 weight oil. ever since i had them it has never bottomed out. as for the pipe i use the ths pipe and like it.

I run 8 with trinity black extra firm springs on all for corners with 50 wt and it works great for me i dont bottom out and i get good articulation. As for a pipe I run an MIP tuned pipe has a great metalic sound.

I personally run the 8 Traxxas big bores with Losi Blue Springs and 50wt oil. It was recomended by NCNitro so I gave it a shot and I noticed a change in handling almost instantly. However no matter what shock package you go with good wheel handling is still the great equalizer. JMO I am running a THS pipe on my 2.5 and I love it. Good all around power curve for bashing which is what I do best.... Good luck.

Tom

THS is a good exhaust system. As for shocks, the Unlimited Engineering shocks are the best for bashing!

Great choice.. you won't be sorry. One tip however.... buy a stinger like the one you would use for an RC plane.. it will help keep some of the fuel mess off of your underside since the way you have to mount the pipe the stinger is pointed down through the chassis. Just my :2cents:

I believe those are called exhaust deflectors. And yes, they really do help keep the exhaust crap off the vehicle.

Thanks for the correction my friend. Sometimes I don't know the right terms... but I do know that the deflector does help some! Take it easy my friend.

Tom

Yes, the deflectors do help quite a bit. I still get that slimey stuff on the shocks, but its easy to clean up.
